Question about Refrigerators

Refrig problem Sorry for the response delay, Candyh. Is your solution for the odor or rust or both? Is the coke to be "poured" over the coils or just the rusted end caps? Thanks

How to clean a car battery with coke

We all value our transportation. We all like to keep our vehicles looking good.
What about under the hood? The battery is a vital part of the car. Its the heart.
Replacing one is rather pricey, so why not make sure the one we have stays in good shape? You're battery is under the hood of your vehicle, having access
to water, oil, and other fluids you my put in your vehicle. The battery terminals also called posts, and the cables (if your battery has cables) can get rusty. Rust, corrosion, and any other dirty build ups that may occur. This can potentially cause problems with the battery, such as: lack of full power, loose terminal cables. The terminal cables are the cables attached to the terminal posts. So your battery should be cleaned sometimes so these issues don't occur. You can buy many different cleaning solutions at any auto shop store, but they can be pricey, and everyone likes saving money. I have a cheap trick that will save you money and may work better than those other cleaning solutions. And that cheap trick is coca COLA.

  • A can/bottle of coca cola.
  • A small copper wire brush.
  • A damp rag
  • A pair of safety gloves
  • And a screw driver
  • First locate your battery, you can choose to leave it in the vehicle, or you can take it out. If you leave it in make sure the vehicle stays off for this time. And make sure the battery is cool before you clean it.
  • Next, put on your gloves and get your brush. Start dry brushing the top of the battery which means brush the battery before using the coke. Scrub the terminals, and remove the terminal cables and scrub them too!
  • Now, open your coke and slowly pour it on the top of the battery. As you are pouring start brushing, same as before. Make sure you get the terminals and cables. Scrub till all of its gone or until you are satisfied.
  • Now take you damp rag and wipe every thing down so it don't get sticky.
  • Do not pour water on the battery!
Now you are threw you can re assemble your battery. If you took the battery out of the car you can put it back in your vehicle.

Its fast ,effective, and its so easy even girls can do it!!!

here are a few extra tips.
rc cola and Pepsi work the same
you can use coke to remove rust
and corrosion of other things like,
rusted pots and pans, other rusted car parts
and rusty tools.

GE Profile Refrigerator Ice Maker not working

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , replace the water inlet valve ( piece on back of refrig that the wall water line connects to ) . If it doesn't dump the cubes , replace the icemaker . Also make sure the coils are clean under the front at the bottom of refrig , or the squirl cage behind refrig ( model number would have helped ) , of dust , lint , pet hair etc .

Smoke pours from under the range top when a burner is on

[UPDATE} I gathered up the courage and left the element on for a while, carefully using aluminum foil in place of a drip pan. No bad smell. The initial odor was just the residual burning off of the last of the rust/dust. I was worried about directly contacting the hot element with the foil so I made sure it didn't directly touch the element but that was probably an unnecessary concern as aluminum foil has a very very high melting point

Bad odor in freezer

the only source for odor in a refrig is from food. check to be sure that nothing has gone bad in the refrig section as well as air circulates back from the fresh food section as well as the freezer. if you stil cant find odor source try charcoal or unscented kitty litter in a small container to help remove bad odors..

GE Spacemaker JVM1339ww002 - looking for photo of plugs in control board plugs for reassembly or a wiring diagram? Disassembled without noting locations and now start & clear buttons do not work. I have a very old model GE spacemaker XL microwave, model# JVM1339ww002. I repaired the #1 key by cleaning contacts and reinserting the ribbon connector to the control panel. However, I did not photograph the connections. Some plugs have only 1 location where they fit. However, 2 pairs of plugs are the same size and I do not know the correct place to reinsert them. I took a guess & reassembled the microwave and it worked except for the start/clear buttons. If you press a number 2 shortcut for example, it will cook 2 minutes and the food is heated. However, start and clear do not work at all. These buttons DID work before I repaired the numbers. I contacted GE and they gave me a hard time about providing the wiring diagram which was removed or not inside my microwave. I am not sure if I reassembled the plugs wrong OR if I broke something else when I was repairing the numbers. Can anyone help me with the right locations for the 2 pairs of plugs listed below? And/Or tell me if it sounds like start & clear are a new problem or will be resolved by getting the plugs correct? These are the 2 sets of plugs that can be inserted in either location: 1) a pair of matching white plugs that snap in place along the bottom (1 has white wires only and the other has 1 white/1 black wire) 2) a pair of red and white plugs of equal size in the middle of the board. They are similar (but smaller) to plugs in wall outlet with 2 prongs. Similar to a wall outlet, you can rotate the plug 180 degrees and they still fit. In other words besides asking which plug is upper or lower, do I need to worry if the plug is upside down or this doesn't matter? The red plug has black wires, while the white plug has blue and white wires.
