The problem may be a bent fan blade. It can be hard to see, so look carefully. On my Belkin, something got through the fan grill and bent one blade just enough to stop the fan. By removing the bad blade it continued to run fine.

The problem with our cooling fan was simple... LONG HAIR! My wife has long hair, and finally enough hair had gotten wound around the fan, that it caused the fan to stop. After removing the hair, it works fine again!

Hi ian_ross_dav. Have you tried another USB port on another computer? Because the cooling fan only uses the +5V of the USB port to function. If you connect something like a printer or a jumpdrive on the USB port and it works, then it means that the fan inside the pad is bad. You have to replace it. Sometimes these fans when you have more than 1, are connected in series, meaning if the first fan doesnt work, then the other one wont get any electricity. I hope this helps. Please do not forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our fast-free support today. Thank you :D

For me, it appears to be a way the usb connector plugs into the port. Not sure if the connectors are dirty or if they're somehow pressed down and not making the connection. I've wiggled it a few times to get it working but that's def not a long term fix

Try different USB ports on your laptop to see if it works on any of them. If it still doesn't turn on. Try hooking up other USB devices and see if any of them work. If other devices work and not the fan, then that means the fan is bad and would need to be replaced.

I have a Logitech cooling pad for my Dell 17" Studio laptop with 4 GB RAM and Vista Home Premium. It mysteriously stopped working. When I plug the cooling pad in other laptops, it works fine. I have...

Seems that your laptop's USB ports are not providing enough power to the cooling pad. This could be due to you connecting too many USB peripherals to your laptop. Test if you can get the cooling pad to work by disconnecting all other USB devices.
As a permanent fix, you can buy an active USB hub (one powered by external power source) & connect your cooling pad to it.

Usage of KVM 2-Port USB between 'thin client' and 'Desktop' stopt

KVM are not the most reliable and will fail sometimes. The quickest way to get it back is to plug into a different USB port for the one that is active.

Restored factory settings on pc & cant re -instal belkin adaptor

The Belkin site has very specific instructions for installing this adapter in a pc with Vista. These instructions are at: http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F5D9050&aid=6112&scid=0
I would first unistall any Belkin Software that has already been installed, shut down the system completely and then restart. After you have fully restarted the system then follow the Belkin Site instructions EXACTLY. Any variation is apt to mean an unsuccessful install. Good Luck and have patience.

Usb not recognizing the mouse or flash drive

Hi,

have you tryed the devices with out the cooling pad? USB ports have a limit on the amout of current they are able to source and it could be that the cooling pad is drawing to much current.

External Harddrive Ignorance...

I've seen this happen with hubs being connected to external hard drives before.

Do you have a free usb port on the back of your computer you can plug it into?

That should fix the problem.

Belkin G+ Wireless USB Adapter

What OS (Operating System) are you using??
If it's Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7, then they MUST have any USB device plugged into the SAME USB port, or it screws up the OS.
Try going to Control Panel (Classic View), then choose SYSTEM to get into Device Manager, go down to USB and see if ANY Belkin adapters are listed (assuming the USB adapter IS Plugged In) - if you see any listed, double-click the adapters and choose to uninstall then.
If that doesn't work, then reboot, pressing F8 repeatedly before the Windows "Splash Screen" shows up. After repeatedly pressing F8 on Boot Up, you should select SAFE MODE (just the choice that only says SAFE MODE). Once SAFE MODE comes up, open Device Manager the same way you did before, then go down again to USB and Delete ANY & ALL Belkin USB adapters listed.
Then reboot and see it it recognizes the Belkin USB adapter now and hopefully will let you setup it's Software.
If you like this, please RATE me .... Thanks

My Laptop does not recognize Belkin 7-Port USB Hub(F5U237v1)

Try connecting it to another port or the one on the dock since some devices can be a bit picky about what port they get plugged into.

Our crossfire doesn't work

Usually this is a problem with the usb port not being able to supply enough power to the drive. The current is often limited at the usb port, and the hard drive may need more than what is being supplied. This is a common problem, and the drive itself is usually fine. If the usb cord has 2 usb plugs on it, plug them both in. If you have an external power jack on the drive, use it.
