It happens as soon as I start the camera. A window appears saying: Memory Card is write protected. Ane I cannot take picures. Nor can I download the old pics on my camera.

It sounds as though it's your memory card that's locked.Remove it and slide the little lever on the left hand side of the card so that it isn't in the lock position.

Nikon coolpix copy button will not work

Make sure the SD card is not set to protect with the small slide switch on the side of the card, then try formatting the SD card NOT the internal memory.

Memory card is write protected as my nikon coolpix screen shows and no any option is getting for picture click

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Memory card reads write protected for my nikon camera

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. Slide it toward the contacts to enable write, away from the contacts to protect. If that doesn't fix it, there may be a problem with the detector inside the card slot.

Nikon Coolpix 4100 software

Download the coolpix 4100 software here. I'm pretty sure it works for any coolpix but I just used it for my 4100. I called Nikon's pacific repair facility and was directed to the website by a rep. This is actually faster than the original installation software.

Nikon Coolpix 5200 Getting Message ""Memory Card is Write Protected"

Inspect your SD card carefully. Some SD cards come with a write-protect lock switch on the side of the card. When looking at an SD card from the top there is one required notch on the right side (the side with the diagonal notched corner) and on the left side there is usually a switch. This is the write-protect switch. When this write-protect switch is in the down position (away from the end that is inserted) then it is write protected and read-only. When the switch is in the up position it is write enabled.
