The upper rinse arm that sits against the top of the tub is held on by a pin. See part 3 in the image below, your arm may look more like a propeller but attaches the same way. If you glue it on it will not spin and will not rinse and wash as well. If you can find a stainless steel bolt and nut to attach it that would work better. You do not want to use a bolt that would rust. But of course the best fix is to order a new part (number 8193768) and replace it. It is only about $10.00

We have a Back To Basics popcorn popper that has a broken piece. The piece is the clear see-through plastic top. Where can we find a new piece?

West Bend took over this company and no longer provides plastic window replacements. I fixed mine by super gluing the window and attaching a small strip of wood on top of the 2 plastic window pieces with small bolts (super glue pieces so wood can be properly attached because glue alone will not hold up to the heat). Not attractive but it works. (West Bend rep told me windows break because of high heat, but I only used mine over medium heat; I think they break at the spot where the raised lid hits the gear mechanism holder.)

My waterrower has a leaking seam in the plastic tank. I know its not that expensive to get it fixed, but its a big hassle...80 mile round trip in heavy traffic. Is it ok to use plastic sealant like you use...

I sealed my tank seal permanently and also fixed cracks on the bottom with Loctite PL Marine Fast Cure Adhesive Sealant. On the inside when the tank was apart I glued a heavy plastic patch directly over the cracks in the bottom. I made the patch from a flat section of plastic cut from an old refrigerator crisper drawer. After installation with the tank laying flat and level glue the upper side of the tank to the adjacent wood for stability. Wait a few days before filling. Photos are attached. The fabric trim on the front door of my 1994 Toyota Camry is coming away from the door. How do I refasten it to the door. It does not appear to be glued. Thanks

My experience with fabric in cars is it glued onto something if it not sewed. They make a spray on glue made specifically for auto fabric repairs. You spray it behind the fabric, press down the fabric, hold it for a few seconds (as directed) leave it alone overnight and that's it! Good luck!

World tour orange symbol doesnt work

This is common on world tour kits, the kit itself is of very poor quality. As a matter of fact, my orange symbol registers a hit once every 5 or 6 hits :/

~Anyway, you can try fixing this by removing the symbol from kit, and unscrewing the plastic protector that is concealing the metal sensor.

~You should see 2 wires glued down to the sensor. One is glued to the OUTER ring, the other is glued to the INNER ring. Pay very close attention to this.

~Pull the first wire out from the glue and try to clean away as much of the glue as possible.

~Strip some of the plastic off of the wire, about 6mm will do.

~Either A) re-glue the wire down making sure it has much more exposure to the sensor, OR...
B) Take tape of your choice (duct tape or gaffa tape works well) and tape the wire down to the sensor, making sure it is ONLY touching the ring it is supposed to.

~Repeat this process for the other wire.

~Replace plastic covering and test the symbol. It should work perfectly. If it is still unsensitive, you can have RedOctane send you a MIDI cable to run the drum sensitivity tuner program to increase the sensitivity. Alternatively, you can take some more tape and run it from one side of the symbol (the under-side) to the other, and crossing over the top of the sensor. This increases it's sensitivity by allowing vibrations to carry along a wider area.

Hope this helps you :)

I have a Zoom GFX-1 and the 'store' button dropped inside.

Yuck! I usually have found it necessary to replace the strips of buttons that have a plastic hinge. I doubt that gluing will work for you. Just getting the correct adhesive would be a problem. The button will likely come unglued with minimal use. The super glues are worthless on the plastics. The button MIGHT be ABS and the black plumbing glue might work, however, if any of the glued area flexes, all bets are off.

I would first attempt to buy a replacement part. Similar things for a Yamaha Tyros synth only cost about $6 for a 4 button and larger strip of the buttons.

Since often the "spring" hinge also restores the button position when released, trying to glue something that will have the spring to it is not likely to be successful.

Broken water dispenser arm

I just fixed this today. 01/2/08

First, I got some super glue from Lowes especially designed for plastics.

I first glued some metal strips to the back or the broken off lever, so it will have extra support once glued back. I then applied glue to the broken surface of the lever arm and the support arms I glued earlier.

Super glue it awesome, just had to hold it in place for 1 minute, then let it cure for a few hours... working good as new.

I'm glad this worked for me, as I did not want to have to search for the part and then worry about taking the refrigerator apart.

After repair, I had to educate my wife on how to slam a cup into the arm HEHE.
