Switch your printer ON. Open front flap door. Wait for some time. Your printer will bring cartridge at center position for easier removal. You need to remove cartridge. Somewhere on back side of flap door, the instruction about removing cartridge might be displayed. Follow those step by step. And replace cartridge with new.

How do I replace ink jet in officejet 4500

Step one: Remove the old cartridges
1. Press the power button to turn on the product
2. Open the front access door. The carriage moves to the far right side of the product
3. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on the cartridge to release it.
To replace the tri-color cartridge, remove the cartridge from the slot on the left.
To replace the black cartridge, remove the cartridge from the slot on the right.
Pull the cartridge toward you out of its slot.
Step two: Install the new cartridges
1. Remove the new cartridge from its packaging. Be careful to touch only the black plastic.
2. Gently remove the plastic tape by pulling the pink pull tab
3. Hold the cartridge with the HP logo on top, and insert the new cartridge into the empty cartridge slot. Make sure you push the cartridge in firmly until it snaps into place.
If you are installing the tri-color cartridge, slide it into the left slot.
If you are installing a black cartridge, slide it into the right slot.
4. Close the front access door.

10.92 errror message. I have install a new black cartridge but the message keep telling me to close the door. HELP PLEASE. THAQNKSw

10.92.XX says that the print cartridge XX(00=black, 01=cyan, 02=magenta, 03=yellow) is not engaged correctly.

Since the error occurred after replacing the black cartridge, it's a good bet that the black is bad.
Put the old black in the printer and see if the error goes away.
Open and close the front door slowly and look at the cartridges. You should see the cartridge flaps all open and close as you open and close the front door.
If the flaps don't all open and close, the cartridge lock mechanism could be broken.
You can run the DISABLE CARTRIDGE CHECK diagnostic. This will allow you to remove all the cartridges and install all or one in any slot you want. In your case remove them all and put the cyan in the black slot and see if the error goes away. If yes, put the black in any empty slot. If the error returns, the black is definitely bad.

The black toner needs replacing but I can't get to it. The Cyan toner is at the front and I can't move it round to get to the black! It's an Epson Aculaser C1100

there maybe a cartridge replacement button to drag the print head etc out of the way so you can get at the cartridges.

I hope this was helpful

I have black lines down the paper when copying and printing.

You need to open the front cover of the machine and remove the drum and toner (cartridge). On the top right there is a tab that you need to slide from right to left about 20 times, then bring back to home position.

This resolves the black lines issue.

Ink

  1. Buy only genuine Dell replacement cartridges. Dell states their printer cartridges cannot be refilled with ink and that only their cartridges work in the printer.
  2. Bring the cartridge carrier of the printer to the center so you can access the ink cartridges. Open the cover of the printer and the carrier slides to the center. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  3. Remove the old black ink cartridge to use the color cartridge. If you allow the old black cartridge to remain in the printer, you will get error messages that the ink is low. The printer may also keep reverting back to the black ink as the default color when printing.
  4. Open the package of the new color cartridge carefully. Remove any blue packing tape that's on the ink cartridge. Take care not to touch the gold area or you could damage the cartridge. Insert the new color cartridge into the correct slot in the printer, the right side of the cartridge carrier. The ink cartridges aren't interchangeable; they need to be placed in the correct slot.
  5. Close the cover on your printer after installing the color cartridge. Run a print test to make sure the color cartridge is installed correctly. Use the Dell Ink Management System to monitor your printer and all-in-one functions. Thanks Thiru

"Remove and check color cartidge."

ok the problem is very common.initially remove both the cartridges.then unplug the printer from main outlet and plug back in.this will reset the printer circuit.then after u on the printer bring back the cartridge carriage to cartridge installation position.then first clean the circuit in the carriage that touches and sense your cartridge circuit with a damp cloth.both colour and black carriage circuit.then clean the cartridge circuit too even if its new.then install both the cartridges and close the door and off the printer again and on it after 30 seconds atleast.then check it should work normally.
