Question about ASUS P4S533-MX Motherboard

2 Answers

Hellooo..... hello there! im new here and i was kinda wondering if you could help me out on my problem... i was kinda wondering whats been happening with my pc lately.Ive got a p4s533mx mother board and i bought it about 4 years ago... before, it was running quite smooth. but lately this past few months i was getting errors from my pc. the most common error was "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" this error as they say a "BSOD" appears kinda frequently every time i play a game. and even worse, it appears from out of nowhere while im not doing anything. now ive already read some articles that may help me resolve this problem. they say i just need to download and install updates for my drivers, but unfortunately nothing happened. the "BSOD's" just keep coming back.. i was hoping some people might help me with this.. thanks in advance...

Well it's kinda hard to tell exactly what when wrong, but this is my suggestion you could try.
Uninstall your video driver, restart and reinstall the driver. If possible try to get the latest driver possible.

I have an Emachines EL1210-01e, and i was wondering what cpu i could put in it, without using too much power i want at least 2.8 ghz at miniium and dual or quad core

The Dual and Quad core processors will not fit on your motherboard because it does not have the CPU pins that the later CPUs.
You best bet is to upgrade the motherboard in your computer and the switch mode power supply.
OR
Get a new desktop computer.

Computer doesnt boot and turns on and then off....

Sounds like a heat issue... Check your BIOS and turn off anything that says "Thermal Threshold".

I don't know what OS you're running so I can't help from here. Let me know what happens...

Also check the thermal paste between the CPU and Fan/Heatsink.

Computer problem!?

well what you could do if you have all the box and material for the unit then just pack it up and then if you have a ebay acct list it on there as is and not tested.

As far as wanting to go with a new motherboard give me the model off the motherboard and ill find a nice replacement model or the processors spec if its a amd ect socket 939 ect

for all that has been tried and the fact that we are getting nowhere with it might just mean you have a bad motherboard which does happen but rarely.

The fact we cant get it setup and to power on poses another problem.

The only other thing I would suggest is if you want I can take a look at the motherboard and make sure there is no issues on the motherboard if you send it to me and I will fix what it needs and then get it back to you. if you dont mind paying shipping.
there is alot of options avail because for me to say its the motherboard would be just speculation until I actually ran tests on it myself.

Which is really a pain on here im use to doing tech support in person and ushally alot better when I have the product infront of me,

let me know and if you wanna go that route or if just replacing the motherboard is what you wanna do then we will either way find a way to get you a working unit

talk to you soon

Powering up my computer

Hello there.

Your motherboard has 4x Serial ATA connections , as you are using 1 already this means you can add a total of 3 SATA new HDD to the system. Size doesn't really matter but thesedays you should be able to get good value for money on the 200-500GB version of the sata drives.

If you have windows installed already on the existing 40GB, then you can add the new HDD alongside the existing, then in Windows set up the new HDD as a new drive letter, giving you all the free space to save your files on.

Hope this helps.

Mach speed motherboard problem

I had the same problem once. I took it to CompUSA to have them diagnose the problem, and they said I fried the motherboard or CPU. The fans turn on just because your power supply is on.
