Hi

joan792,

Thanks in advance! , for choosing Fixya for assistance.

I would like to know additional info , before I suggest possible

solution to the symptoms you are having:

a ) There would be blinking of the LED in front of the TV controls,

how many blinks are you having?

b ) Have you tried anything inside to possibly remedy the cause?

c ) These sets may need servicing and possible solution

could be written depending on the electronic experience you have.

If you feel you can DIY ( solder and troubleshoot ) inside the unit

then maybe , we can work these out.

d ) Service manual might be required and a must, if initial

troubleshooting have been done and still the symptoms , still

persist.

e ) Servicing the unit , also requires Voltage Measurement inside

the unit to be precise in ordering what part or component to be

replaced.

f ) If you need additional details let us know.

Here are some of the checkpoints

a ) Confirm the voltage of A Board TP91 is 134.6 ± 1.0 VDC.

Here is a tip to troubleshoot the Horizontal Deflection Circuits

As the name implies, parts and components may not be the same as

yours, but the principle is the same.

Here is the typical service position and what is inside your TV

Here are possible causes and possible location:

Hope these helps initially , while i wait for your immediate response

to begin having solutions for your unit.

The blinking above of the LED comes from the Service Manual, so the starting point

    would be :

    a ) Confirm the voltage of A Board TP91 is 134.6 ± 1.0 VDC.

If you have done these , then tell me so,

    b ) check D647

I have a problem with my sony trinitron. it doesn't have a picture when it's turned on. instead, i get the blinking timer/standby light. it may make a sound like it's coming on, but again, no picture. ...

The TV is in a "shut-down" mode to protect itself from further damage - there's probably a shorted transistor in the horizontal or vertical circuit. You won't be able to fix it yourself unless you know how to isolate the problem with a schematic.

Standby/timer light flashing tv won't come on

Hello
Blinking of standby light on Sony TVs are fault indications. You just count the number of blinks and get that number to me. Just do it by switch ON/OFF your tv with its front panel power switch; not by the remote control handset. Do it for at least three times, and make confirm about the number of blinks. It will help me to reach the nearest fault point, sometimes to the exact one . OK.

SHARP 29" TV switching off to Standby

have you tried changing the batteries just to elimate this problem

change them

sometimes if the batteries are low in electronic devies, they send a wek signal to its receiver (your tv),

your tv gets confused and then switches itself to standby

if you have changed the batteries and this problem still persists

it can only then be th PSU or power supply unit, take it to your local tv repair shop of mastercare somewhere like that, its going to be cheaper to get it repaired than replacing the whole tv

PSU'S generally 20 to 50 pounds depending on model

don't deo it yourself though unless you've got a capacitor discharger (or a nice 25KV will be on its way to your body)

hop this helps mate, let me know how you get on
