That depends upon what parts you need. What is broken and needs to be replaced?

PCM is what it's receiving from the DVD player. The player has output bitstream settings, too, maybe even speaker configurations and distances. Read its manual.

Speaker wires accidentally touched.

it sounds like the cone in the centre has blown. Use a 'spare speaker' not one from the system and try it, is should work, but if it was the centre speaker cable that shorted, should you get no sound from the spare it sounds like you have blown that part of the system which will require professional repair. Sorry

Do not restart them with the button, that won't reset settings, unplug everything from power for 5 minutes and plug them back.

I got sound from the left speaker again! Must be my awesome, smelly breathe that woke up the left speaker....

I have no instruction manual for my x-540 logitech speakers to set them up to play music from my Dell lap top

Hi bbphysio

I could not find any instruction manuals for you, but here is a great procedure on hooking up and testing your speaker system from Logitech. It is for the next model along from yours, but I am sure that it will help sort out you setup.

Thanks for using FixYa, a FixYa rating would be great for finding this for you. Cheers
