SOURCE: Purex Triton Minimax 400 pool/spa heater not igniting

This sounds like you have a problem with your pilot. You can check this with a small mirror to see if their is a spark when you turn it on. If you have any soot build up on the pilot that will stop the spark and keep it from lighting also. If you have a short on your pilot wire this could be the problem also. I hope this helps, good luck.

First have you always had this connected to propane? There are different models for natural gas and for propane. If you connect a natural gas to propane the "jets" are way too big for propane. How did you clean the jets? IF you "drilled" them out they may be too large now. If you have adjusted the gas regulator, decrease gas pressure. I believe this unit has a combustion blower, be sure it is debris free on inlet and in fan, check for leaves. Make sure black smoke is not coming from debris built up inside of heater. Is there any difference in bottle gas heater and natural gas heater

by bottle i am assuming you mean propane. yes there is a difference , natural gas is mostly methane gas (ch4) a very small molecule, propane is (c3h8) a much larger molecule. so they require different gas nozzles and cannot run a unit on the other fuel, some can be converted to run other gas. generally natural gas units are cheaper to run, but cost more for installation as a gas line has to be run to the unit and benefit of not running out of fuel. hope this helps.

Jet size differnce from natural gas to bottled

You will need more then new orifices to convert from natural gas to propane. The gas valve will also need to be replaced. Not a good idea converting heater.
