Refer to the maintenance section of the manual for cleaning the machine.

Re-thread according to the instruction manual, with the presser foot up.

If this does not help, the machine will need to go into the shop for service.

Looped threads

Hello Rosemary
Looped thread on the underside are created by the upper thread. Loops on the top of the fabric are created by the bobbin thread. Whichever one is looping, has very little tension. This may be corrected by:
1. Re-threading the upper thread according to manufacturer's specifications.
2. Re-wind bobbin and re-set it into bobbin case and bobbin case area according to manufacturer's specifications.
3. Ensure that the needle is correctly installed and is the correct needle for the sewing machine.
4. Ensure that he bobbin being used is the correct one for the machine.
5. Double check that the tension on the upper thread is at the correct setting.
6. Double check that the tension unit is clean and free of dust, lint or lodged thread/s.
7. Double check that the bobbin tension is correctly set ... if you are comfortable doing so, otherwise leave it for a qualified technician
8. Make sure that he presser foot is down when stitching.
Please let me know how you go.
Happy stitching.

When sewing straight stitch the needle thread was looping up on the bottom now while trying to adjust, the needle doesnt grab the bobbin thread

You have a tension issue. Use the dial on the front of the machine. to turn the tension tighter.Use a double length of fabric and sew a little, turn knob, sew a little, turn knob. Continue doing this till top and bottom thread are equal and grabbing in the center. Good Luck... xo

How to correct tension on sewing machine

are the thread with loops?
are the threads bird nesting?
try changing the needle
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of your sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the needle clamp screw to remove the old needle.
Place the new needle in the needle clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back, (round needle, the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft).
Push the needle all the way up as far as it will go. Then tighten the needle clamp screw.

rethread the machine top & bottom

When i sew, the underneith is making loops

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

The problem is likely the threading. Double check the threading, look twice or three times at the diagram. Even me, a tech sometimes threads a machine or serger wrong.

When the machine is sewing with black embroidery thread, it will have big loops on either the top or bottom when sewing an outline and will also "nest" and the upper thread will break. Black...

Try a different black thread, quality can change a lot on threads. Also...black color is the worst for tension issues due to the overdying done to get a real dark black color on the thread. Looping on the top and the bottom are two different issues. Double check all threading when you have problems. Also the white is a brother pe100 clone. You may find a solution on a pe100 brother page or site.

My Pfaff sewing machine has started to loop the top thread underneath. Tried fixing the tension on the bobbin thread as they state in the manual, but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?

If the thread is looping underneath, you're top tension may be too loose or the thread may not be in the take-up lever. If it's looping on top, double check that the thread is in the bobbin tension or that the bobbin tension isn't too loose.

Thread loops in top of embroidery

If it was an upper tension problem your loops would be beneith the fabric. Since the loops are on top this tells me the lower tension is too loose. There is a small screw on your bobbincase that you need to turn clockwise to adjust it. Do the adjustment little by little until its good. I would do it like a clock. First turn the screw to one o'clock. Still looping? Go to 2 o'clock etc.
If this doesn't help you, a clean opikl, and adjust by your local dealership could be anywhere from 50.00 to 90.00.
Good luck
