How would I fix corrupted word doc? I can't open my word doc. This appear ''The file (My doc name) cannot be open because there are problems with the contents'' how i can i overcome this problem?

Hi,

You can attempt a repair by opening Word, File>Open Select the document and then where it says "Open", click on the little arro next to it and choose "Open and Repair". If this does not work then it is corrupted beyond repair.

Office word files in my pc become corrupted. I can't read them.
Try to repair your corrupt file with the help of Open & repair. You can do this by following below steps:


Start->File->Open->Select the corrupt file->Click arrow next to open button->select open & repair


If you are still facing the same problem then try to start MS word in safe mode.

If you will be able to open the file in safe mode then there is a problem with add-ins. Delete all the add-ins to fix the problem.

To open a corrupt file; you have to repair the file first.
MS Excel has a special feature to repair corrupt file that is Open & Repair.
Repair a corrupt excel file by following steps:
  • Open a blank wordbook.
  • Go-to the File menu and click on the open button.
  • Now select your corrupt file and click on the arrow next to open button.
  • Select Open & repair option and click on the open button.
  • Save as the file and give the new name.

Additionally you can try 3rd party excel repair software if Open & Repair fails to repair corrupt file.
