U must use Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition for mail server. To create a mail server u will need Exchange Server 2003 to install Server...

U will also need a router in it configure NAT and a lease line connection to start ur mail server

Bounced email

In computer jargon, a bounced <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/E/e_mail.html">e-mail</a> is one that never arrives in the recipient's inbox and is sent back, or bounced back, to the sender with an error message that indicates to the sender that the e-mail was never successfully transmitted. But what happens when someone sends an e-mail out into cyberspace, and why do e-mails sometimes bounce back?<br /> When a <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/U/user.html">user</a> attempts to send an e-mail, he is telling his e-mail system to look for the <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/domain.html">domain</a> of the recipient (for example, webopedia.com) and the domain's mail <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/S/server.html">server</a>. Once the e-mail system makes contact with the recipient's mail server, the mail server looks at the message to determine if it will let the message pass through the server. If the recipient's server has predetermined that it is not accepting e-mails from the sender's address (for example, if it has blocked the address for <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/S/spam.html">anti-spamming</a> purposes), the server will reject the message and it will subsequently bounce back to the sender. The message will also bounce back to the server if the mail server on the recipient's end is busy and cannot handle the request at that time. When an e-mail is returned to the sender without being accepted by the recipient's mail server, this is called a <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/H/hard_bounce.html">hard bounce</a>.

WorkCenter M118 it stop sending scan over email. Insted of sending it print the NDR with error E11202

Solution : Make Sure the SMTP (Mail) Server is an Open Relay Server or Uses POP-Before-SMTP Authentication The mail server being used must be an Open Relay server or use POP before SMTP authentication. If the mail server being used requires SMTP authentication, the scan to e-mail process will fail. The WorkCentre is unable to access the mail server when SMTP authentication is required. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or System Administrator for additional information.
NOTE: The WorkCentre was designed to send e-mail through internal corporate mail servers. In most cases, if using your Internet Service Provider (ISP) mail server, the scan to e-mail process will fail because most ISP mail servers require SMTP authentication to send mail. Contact your ISP for additional information.

Currently Yahoo Mail servers are running, you cna check here: http://downrightnow.com/yahoomail

This does not mean you can get through - there are a number of servers and systems between your computer and the mail servers - depending on which country you are in.

You could try a trace route http://www.traceroute.org/ for your country and that may tell you if a server is down between your location and the Yahoo! Mail servers.

Apart from that their is little more I can do - as the servers are definitely up and running.

LaunchCascadeError-ymws:Server.MailboxOpenFailed, occurred when trying to connect to Yahoo! Mail.

first of all check if u can open it with a diff browser, if still the same then try n go to safe mode with networking, in order to go there while start the computer keep tapping f8 then you will get an advanced boot option screen, go to safe mode with networking & press entre twice, then log in as admin, check if it works, u can also try to create a new user a/c , check if u can open the email in a diff pc if it works there, there must be a problem with ur pc, so u can reinstall your opertaing system. i hope this shud work, if not then the problem will from yahoo's end, in that case repor the same to yahoo, n wait by the they fix their local server.

cheers

How to find and enter the server name/connect a server to outlook express .I have got a server and many client systems connected to it,and outlook express is already installed, but i dont know how to bring...

Contact your local ISP (Internet Service Provider).
They will tell you the name of the mail-server(s),
and will tell you how to configure Outlook Express to use the name(s).

Almost any "Pentium 4" (or newer) computer is "beefy" enough hardware to run Microsoft Exchange as an Intranet Mail Server. So, $100 to $200 for a "bare" Pentium 4 system, plus the cost of purchasing a license for Microsoft Exchange. Hiring a consultant to do the setup/configuration will run $100/hour.

Socket error 11004 !!!!

Hey...I tell you a fact. Outlook is really a nice software for email management but still i am sad that its poor in handling Internet Connections. Actually, all data transfer takes place using SOCKET networking and Outlook is not nicely programmed to work with various kind of internet connections.

So, for the solution of this I suggest you to use MS Office's Outlook which is far better than Window's default OUTLOOK EXPRESS. And surely your emails will be processed in better way then.

Difference between windows platform ,unix and linux

To make a long answer short, Unix, Linux, and Windows are different operating systems. Each allow command-line commands and point-and-click operations. Unix workstations are used for running engineering software, programming, networking, web browsing, and electronic mail. Linux computers come with productivity tools and CSS is adding engineering software packages as they become available. Windows computers are used for productivity tools (word processing, database, etc.)
