I would guess not. It looks like a dedicated monitor for a specific PC. You may be able to get a pinout from pinouts.ru and construct you own canle

NO, this monitor is special, need special drive to make it go, not suitable for PC, unless find out what connections in cord are and can make same as SVGA, or HDMI, or TDMA etc, NOT work off PC Video card as is.

MSI VR420 notebook computer fan only works periodically, is there something aside from replacing the fan to ensure it always runs?

The fan is connected to an on board system controller and only comes on when the CPU gets hot .If you are worried you can down load a program called speed fan or find other free temperature monitoring programs to check your computers operating temperature.

I hope this helps

I have an Intel DG31PR motherboard, an Intel Dual Core E6300 2.8 GHz processor, 2 GB DDR-2 800 MHz Kingston RAM, an LG 17" CRT monitor with 1280 x 1024 @ 66 Hz max resolution. I need to buy a...

Since your motherboard has the most recent port for video cards (PCI Express), you're best off getting something that actually will be bottlenecked. That way when you do actually upgrade the rest of the components, you won't have to worry about a video card upgrade, nor will you have to worry about compatibility.

This card has an excellent performance/cost ratio, and will handle anything you throw at it.

Connectivity card from montior to CPU is different than other PCs, in back side of the monitor its showing to type VGA and other one DFid something, In my CPU i dont have the slot for the other type DFi, ...

Hi,

I believe you are referring to a DVi connector. We have different types of connectors but none of them is DFi. We have VGA, HDMI, SATA, and DVi connectors. Here's a cheklist of what you need to do:
  1. Check the connector of the computer whether you have VGA, HDMI, SATA, or DVi
  2. Check the connector of the monitor whether you have VGA, HDMI, SATA, or DVi
  3. Now that you know the type of connectors you have for your system, you know what cable to buy.
It does not really matter if your computer and monitor have different connectors. We can purchase cables with VGA - VGA, HDMI - HDMI, DVi - DVi, VGA - HDMI, VGA - DVi, HDMI - DVi. So, don't worry and thank you for choosing FixYa!

You have set too high resolution for your monitor. Follow these steps to correct the problem.

3. Select the option 'Enable VGA mode' with arrow keys. Press enter.

4. Computer will boot normally, but with larger icons.

5. Open Control Panel --> Appearance and Themes --> Change the screen resolution.

NOISE IN MONITOR

Hello

Something you can try is to have a look at the frequency of the monitor. Right click on the desktop, propperties and have a look at the settings.

It is usually the wrong frequency which result in a noise.

Hope this can be helpful.

Kind regards

Compaq presario cpu cooling fan will not start spinning unless "helped" with tip of pen to spin over.If I dont start it manually,I get No cpu fan message, and shut down.I just replaced fan,as old had broken...

If the CPU fan speed is too slow or not working at all, the computer will shut itself off automatically to prevent damage to CPU from overheating. You may end up having to throw more money at the problem and get a new fan. I went to Compaq's web site, looked up your particualr computer, found out what type of fan you needed, and I did some research. I recommend getting the fan in the following link. It's very cheap, and has good reviews. The other fans on the site all have bad reviews. Hope this helps.

Try running a penny across the monitor's cable pins while powered on. If you contact a certain pin with the penny and the monitor exits sleep mode, your monitor is fine. If not, buy another one.

Upgrading CPU on Asus PSBW-LA motherboard

Dealing with OEM PC's can be rather difficult. Most of the specifications on those chips are the same, except the FSB (Front System Bus). The E6300 is 1066MHz and the E6550 is 1333MHz. I don't believe that this is set by jumpers (i'm 95% sure). I would look into BIOS to see if it is an available option to change (though most of the time this setting is set on AUTO). There is a chance that you will need to provide a BIOS update. If you chose to do this be very careful as this is dangerous. Should something interupt this (power outage or something like that) your computer could become useless. Definitely make sure to do a lot of research and preparation before performing an update.

Monitor

Hi,

Connecting an external monitor will not mess up the laptop.

Most laptops have a standard 15 pin VGA external monitor connector. You need to connect the cable from the monitor to the laptop. Booth the Dell and power up the monitor. Soon as the laptop has gone through its routine of booting, press Fn + F8 or F4 (or whatever it is that needs to be pressed to activate the external monitor. It is normally an F key with the small monitor icon or the words CRT/LCD).

Pressing on the two (2) F keys would cycle on laptop display, laptop display + external, external only.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
