No bootable devices = the hard disk appears empty, either Windows was corrupted or the hard disk has died.
Reinstall. If the install fails to complete or the problem comes back the hd is dead = replace it.

No bootable device detected

If you strike F1, the system retries as said in the comment. That does'nt solve anything. Rather strike F2 which allows to enter the setup menus of your computer.
In this area you should understand what you are doing. Any update of setupdata may prevent further restart. At least take note of values and changes. You exit setup via a question "update Y/N". Then the computer restarts.
Anyway, in the setup menu you may inspect the devices and see if you the system identifies the disk. If not it may come from a bad connection of hard disk (sata pins, ...) or from low level disk information (format information).
With setup menu you may get in the boot order menu, that allows for the selection of an alternate boot media. You may boot on an installation media, ( install DVD generally, like originall windows install DVD) in order to understand and repair the situation, or from a rescue system like UBCD. You may also try Ubuntu from the CD without installing, just to verify if you may see the disk in the configuration.

Says my computer has no bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot. F2 for setup utility. Press F2 and the computer advises no hard drive is present. There is a 100gb hdd installed.

But unfortunately the HDD is not detected in the computer.
Reset BIOS.
Check your hard drive connections.
Change the cables if it is a desktop.
If all these fail to resolve the issue, check the hard drive.

My Laptop is Dell Latitude D600 (A16) Everytime I tried to power up, Splash screen appears with blue bar and when going into next screen this message appears " No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry...

Check your BIOS, by pressing F2 and see if the hard drive is recognized. It should indicate the MFR next to the hard drive listing. If it's not there, then you might have a bad hard drive. If it is there, try re-installing the operating system with the set-up disk. You can also go to the Dell website, enter you service tag number, and get technical support for your particular laptop. It might have a recovery partition in the hard drive to recover to factory settings.

My dell 5125 indicates internal hard disk drive not found. it asked me to reseat the drive...than it indicates no bootable devices- i'm strike F1 to retry to boot and F2 for setup utility....nothing...

Try accessing setup utility and verify there if it still recognizes your hard drive, if not then that means your hard drive had crashed. If you have important files on the drive, you can try to recover it by going to a local service provider and have your files recovered, and of course you have to get a new hard drive for your dell.

Won't turn on

No bootable device usually means that your hard drive has failed. It is either not connected properly to the computer or the drive needs to be replaced.

From the Bios, load all the default settings and then check the bios SATA port settings. If it is set to AHCI, change it to IDE to boot from Hard Drive. This should solve the problem
