Un hook your everything on your xbox except your power cord turn off xbox then wrap you xbox with atleast two towels now turn xbox back on and leave wrapped for 20 minutes then after about 20 minutes un wrap it and let sit for about 15 minutes now plug everything back in and turn it on this method should work for about a week or so until they find a real solution to the problem

Red lights is normally the red light of doom, you will need to send it in to get it fixed or you can fix it yourself using a good guide to fix it and stop the heat build up.

Three red lights on my xbox360

you have whats called the red ring of death means you have a hardware failure and is quite common it is caused by the glue they use to hold down the cpu chip heating up causing the cpu to lift off the board slightly doing the following procedure heats up the glue again causing it to sit back down in place luckily this is simple to fix these are the steps first get two towels now set your xbox up on the floor and turn it on then wrap it in the 2 towels so its completely wrapped up let it sit there still running till you here it shut off (when you cant here the fans, roughly 10 mins) then remove the towels and it should have 2 red flashing lights this means it is overheated which strangely enough is what u want it to do know let it sit till it cools back down and it should be good as new, i work for a rental company and have used this technique 4 times just today and despite what other idiots say it works perfectly, hope that helped

One flashing red light on xbox360 ( not red ring)

The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code
Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.
Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
All four lights flashing - 0
One light flashing - 1
Two Lights flashing - 2
Three lights flashing - 3

Once you get this code, go to: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=484726
To get the reason for the code.

Ps3 powering problem

this is similar to the red blinking lights of death on the xbox360...it seems your cell processor has overheated resulting in a cold solder joints or worse bridged solder involving the BGA array...The Ps3/WII/XBOX360 all use lead-free solder which tends to to weaken and crack.
I have had some success in fixing these albeit limited. sony charges 150 plus state tax and sends you a refurbished unit.

Red lights on xbox 360

Which three lights? if its Top Left, Bottom Left, Bottom Right, then you have the infamous "Red Ring of Death." witch means general hardware failure. If you search around on the internet, there are some Xbox360 modding sites that sell kits to repair this kind of problem (if youre brave enough to tackle it).

Luckily Microsoft is aware of this problem and has extended thier warranty to 3yrs (but ONLY if you have this particular problem).

Otherwise you'd have to send it into Microsoft to get it repaired.

and if you do try to fix it yourself, or you've voided the warranty ( by already opening it) make sure you DON"T do the " towel Fix " it will only make things worse. you need to do an X Clamp repair. It's simple. I had no experiance whatsoever.with electronics. and I was able to figure it out the first time I tried it. I did it three weeks ago and my X box is quieter than ever and it works fine. so serach on you tube " X Box 360 X clamp fix " and you should see what you need to fix your problem.
