It seems that your OS has some problem by a hardware issue or may be a driver/software issue. A blue screen hsa many reason. So when there is blue screen error please note down the error codes at the end of that page and mention here. error codes are generally like: Stop 0x0000001a (0x003201b, 0x000af001b, 0x00fd001b, 0x000503c) the codes in the bracket are variables. So only writes the code after the word Stop. Then I'll find out the real cause of your problem. Also mention your system configuration and installed softwares. If you are unable to logon in normal mode start in safe mode. bcdalaihttp://bcdalai.blogspot.com/

My computer screen turns blue and restarts window vista

Hi jjlishus,

I see you mentioned that you are having issues with you computer going into a blue screen then it restarts.

You can try to boot into safe mode to see if Windows Vista will Load without having the bluescreen and if it will not shut down or restart, from Safe Mode, try and do a system restore to a data where the problem has not happened yet.

From there-on see if the issue will still happen or no

Getting into Safemode:
restart PC keep on tapping F8 on your Keyboard this will prompt you options, Look for Safemode then press enter this should bring up the safemode screen.

If during the loading of safemode and still happens are any error show up or it goes to a blue screen, you can try going into safemode with command prompt.
to get to safemode in command prompt just do the same as ging into safemode and select safemode in command prompt.

once in the command prompt
Type CHKDSK , then press enter it should check the system for 5 mins or so depending on your PC/Laptops speed.

if still the issue is the same reformatting or restoring your windows back to defaults may fix the issue.

I hope that this will help,

My computer says configure updates and then it automatically turns off

This will be a long process of troubleshooting and may end up of restoring your computer to a factory settings. You can try the steps below:
First is boot up to advance boot options, to do this follow the steps below: -Turn off your computer -After pressing the turn on button start tapping F8 key until you see the Advance Boot Option. -Try choosing Last Known Good Configuration if it fail try Safemode, Safemode with networking or safemode with command prompt, if one is successful use system restore to restore your computer to an earlier date but if it fails you'll need to use your Operating System Disc to use the repair option.
Here's how to access system restore incase you're able to access Last Known Good Configuration, Safemode, Safemode with networking or safemode with command prompt: Windows XP: Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore select Restore my computer to an earlier time then select a bold date on the calendar and click Next on the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer. Then click OK on the System Restore Restoration Complete page.
Windows 7 and Windows Vista: Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore select Restore my computer to an earlier time then select a bold date on the calendar and click Next on the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows configuration, and then restarts the computer. Then click OK on the System Restore Restoration Complete page.
If you're on safemode with command prompt: At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER, System Restore window will pop-up then select Restore my computer to an earlier time then select a bold date on the calendar and click Next on the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows configuration, and then restarts the computer. Then click OK on the System Restore Restoration Complete page.
If all the steps above fails you need to use the recover disc or the operating system disc to do a repair on your computer. Revert back in case you need steps for using start-up repair.
Note: If the steps above and start-up repair fail there's no other option but to restore your computer to factory settings.

My dell inspiron 2200 wont start up..Well it starts up but then it sais "Windows start up has failed." and it gives me options to start up in safe mode with command promt and safe mode with networking...

Boot your PC with the windows OS disk and choose to repair your computer when asked. Run the chkdsk program in DOS on the recover mode to correct disk errors.
On completion, restart your computer normally and check it it works.

If it does not work, you may need to format your pc & reinstall windows again.
