Question about Car Audio & Video
we have Sansui DVP-2002B in our car. We changed the car battery and now can only get a black and white picture. The kids aren't happy! Any ideas how we can fix it. Many thanks
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You have posted this in the Panasonic DMR-ES30VS section.
Please note which product section you are in before posting your question.
For the Sony DVP-SR200P there could be multiple reasons for it only showing in B&W.
Was this a recent problem, is this a new hook-up, has it always been this way?
Could someone have turned the color down?
You can go to the setup menu and "Reset" the player to the factory settings.
Check all cables to make sure they are plugged in, test each one by unplugging it, and then plug it back in fully.
If you are using a composite cable (1 cable yellow plug), be sure you have plugged it in from yellow to yellow.
If you are using the component (3 cables red-green-blue plugs) hook-up, be sure you are using cables only designed for component hook-up, and have plugged them in correctly, red to red, green to green, blue to blue (Be sure you've plugged the red cable into the red video not red audio).
Are the cables in good condition?
No breaks, loose connectors, they weren't smashed under a piece of furniture?
Have you tried a different set of cables?
Does the same thing happen?
Did you "Reset" the DVD player?
Maybe the DVD player is bad?
Does it work OK, or is it black and white too?
Maybe the connectors on the TV are bad?
Is there a custom setting on the TV for that connection?
On some TVs you can adjust the settings for each input (INPUT 1, INPUT 2, ....) maybe the color setting is turned down?

My mother-in-law sent me her unit with the same problem. The problem i had was you couldn't really read anything on the screen in the setup menu. I finally got lucky and got in the right menu and set everything to default settings and it went right back. Here are the steps to reset it without reading it.
1. remove all tapes and discs
2 if your unit scans for channels when you turn it on press return once
3.if it doesnt go to channel scanning you should have a blank screen
4.press the functions button once
5.press down twice
6.press the enter button
7.press the enter button again
8.press down once
9.press right once
10.press down 4 times
11.press enter once
12.press up once
13.press enter once and the double image should be gone
14. press the functions button twice to exit
hope this works for you

look on the TV menu for (system) in south africa we use PAL, if you cant change it on the TV, with the decoder remote press menu then 7 then 4, it will ask for a pin code press 9-9-4-9 it will read "RF modulator" press OK, it will then read 1 MODULATION press ok again and it will highlight PAL I now press the right key and press OK, if this persists then the decoder it probably faulty... good luck

maybe the spindle motor is defective so it cannot read the disc. just bring that your dvd to sony service center to fix your dvd.
