Question about Garmin nuvi 750 GPS Receiver

The date that my Nuvi operates on is incorrect

I cannot figure out how to set the correct date on my Garmin nuvi 705 series. I've pored through the owner's manual to no avail. Since it is operating on the wrong date (it's currently set to some day in December 2009), the time is incorrect as well; I am able to change the time, but not the date.

Nuvi 200 - trying to reset the date using the method suggested by Kevin A (and in a cellar) and after two hours the Nuvi was still "locating satellites". Am I doing something wrong?!

My main problem, however, is that having loaded a copy of the latest European maps onto the card used in the device, when going through the "where to" routine I am asked to enter State/Province. Living in the UK this is a little difficult as there is no answer I can give that the unit will recognise! Any ideas?

It's been a while, but this should work. Take the unit indoors, as far away from windows, etc. as possible. Turn it on, and tell it you want to go to one of your favorites. The unit should say, "Acquring Satellites" for some time, then tell you, "Unable to locate satellites. Are you indoors?" Press NO. It will then ask you, "Are you in (your state)?" Press YES. It will ask, "Is today (whatever date it thinks it is)?" Press NO. The unit should allow you to set the correct date. I may have gotten the date/state order mixed up, but you will know what to do when it asks. Let me know if this helps.

The nuvi and Garmin Drive series devices do not have user replaceable batteries, with a few exceptions. The exceptions include the nuvi 500 series, 800 series, 805 series, and the nuvi 295W.
A replacement battery for the nuvi 500 series can be purchased on the Garmin website here.

How do I re-calibrate my Garmin Nuvi 705 series. The touch screen isn't working properly.

Here is the procedure:

Nuvi 7xx Series: Turn the Nuvi off. Touch the screen anywhere and keep your finger there while moving the on/off switch to left (don't wait for Garmin logo to come up) and then quickly moving the switch the right (lock position). After a short while, you will reach the calibration screen. Go through the entire procedure of pressing each dot as it appears on the screen until it says "Done". More tips can be found here:

The garmin nuvi 1300 series comes on and then says loading maps and does it over and over and will not load maps

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.
