For that go to wireless network adapter property and set Ip address 192.168.10.5 in tcp ip settings.
If you already tried that then enable DHCP in router .
And then set in laptop wi fi adapter property ip get automatic.
You need to configure your router.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.

Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router.
Then save settings and restart router.
Also uninstall laptop wireless network driver then reinstall. Then check.
Scan your computer with updated antivirus virus also stuck ip of wifi.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

OK, for a start, go, type into the, START>>RUN>>service.msc (enter) then when the services window comes up scroll down to DHCP, disable and turn off. also scroll down to, Zero configuration, and disable and stop that too. Now reboot. Now go to your "Cookies" and delete ALL cookies, and TEMP, TMP files, in fact do a "Disk Cleanup" and remove all temporary files, cookies etc. Now, use another browser, download say Firefox, Now use that, browser to communicate with your router, now login to the router and set it all up. Ensure that DHCP is set to ON in the Router. Now you will be assigned an address automatically, this is what you want, UNLESS you wish a STATIC address, which, in that case setup in networking properties. and it will be fixed. Although usually having it assigned by the router is best. Now, use the Internet Connection Wizard to setup your connection, your Router should be your "Gateway" and all other PC's are the "Clients". use your manual below to set it all up.
broadband.motorola.com/consumers/.../wr850g_userguide_6.1.4.pdf
User manual above, use this to set it all up.

Check your router and confirm ip adress, and type manual ip adress on your wireless network connection properties in your computer.

Tip

Wireless printer goes offline

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:

- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can change the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
- Click 'Apply'.

Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.

After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

May laptop won't connect to internet, my laptop is in good condition. i already reset my dlink wireless router but still don't connect to internet. The connectivity is ok. my laptop detects the router but...

Hi,

Is the laptop detecting any wireless networks in the area? if yes then it means that the wireless card is ok if not make sure that the wireless is turned on on your laptop.

I the laptop detects wireless networks in the are then we should check the settings on your system or something that could be interfering with the wireless connection on your system,
what are the error/s when trying to connect wirelessly?

Tis can be multiple things regarding wireless, if the error is windows was unable to conenct to wireless evice then try recreating the wireless network on your laptop in network and sharing center if you have win7 on the laptop, network conenctions if you have XP.

I the laptop connects to the router but does not get internet acces then better check you routers network key if it is correct in your laptops settings, also check your IP address if it is correct if you IP starts with 169... then have a bad IP address on your laptop, go to the command prompt type ipconfig /release, then press enter, then type ipconfig /renew then enter to renew your ip address, hoping that the IP address changes it should begin with 192...

I have a hp 510 laptop that won't connect to the wireless router. It gives this error "windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range" but other laptops around...

Have you try to check the IP ADDRESS of your laptop? Your laptop must have a unique IP address or it must have the same default gateway with your ISP provider or the router. see example below,

IP ADDRESS: 192.168.1.15
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.1.1

preffered DNS server: 192.168.1.1

note: 192.168.1.1 is the IP ADDRESS of your internet or ROUTER that is given from your ISP that they've configured.

try to check the other laptops that was able to connect, you can follow it.

I cannot get my laptop to connect to the internet either wirelessly or hard-wired. I have two other laptops, connected wirelessly, and a desktop connected via hardwire. It recognizes the router but says...

if you are trying through wireless, first unplug the wire from the laptop,

make sure that the wireless switch on your laptop is turned on.

click on start, control panel, network connections/network & internet/ Network and sharing center..

right click on wireless network connection Icon, if it says disable, it means it is enabled already.

then click on status..

from here the steps would differ from OS to OS

then click on Support tab (for XP)
check the address type, it should be "Assigned by DHCP"
and if you see the IP Address starts with 169., it is a bad IP and needs to disable the connection and enable it.

if the connection type is "Assigned Manually, right click on wireless network connection icon and click on properties and click Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and click on properties, in this window, check the option "Obtain IP Address Automatically from DHCP"

click ok and OK ..

again right click on the wireless network connection icon and click on view available networks... click on your router name and click on connect..

now check the functionality.

if you are using windows 7 or vista,

click on status, click on details for the IP Address..

We see DHCP Enabled as YES or NO instead of "Adress type"in XP

if it says no, it means it is assigned manually. to change to DHCP , right click on Wireless Icon, select properties, click on IPV4 IP address and click properties, then select obtain automatic..

then try again..

hope this works,

Wireless router no longer working.

yellow icon mean that you have not assigned any ip address to your laptop also router is not assigning the ip to laptop automatically...do one thing. either assign ip manually by right clking on network icon shown near clock click status>>>clk properties>>>select internet protocol (tcp ip)>>>clk properties and add ip address as follow

ip==>> 192.168.1.100
subnet mask>>255.255.255.0
gateway>>192.168.1.1

clk ok ok ok

or you can reset your router to factory default by looking for a small button on the router.... keep pressing the button as all lights on router together flick for once.....do reply back

Can only connect 1 computer to router

You might need to check if your laptop is able to get a valid IP address when connected wirelessly to the router. You can go to the Control Panel then click on network connections and look for wireless network connection. Right click the wireless network connection then click properties. Click the support tab and there you will see the IP address. You should not be getting 169.254.x.x. Where X represents numbers.

An IP address is very important. Make sure you're getting a correct IP address and it should be the IP address provided by your router. Without a valid IP address, you won't be able to get onlinwe. Your wireless connection can tell you that its connected eventhough its not getting a valid IP address.

I am trying to connect to the wireless in my new apartment. I have entered my network and password and that has worked fine. However, under Wireless Network Connection Status (i can get there by clicking...

On the Support tab - what does it say the "Address Type" ?
If its DHCP then check that on the TCP/IP properties;
If on "automatic IP address" then it wont take any entered IP address.

Do not put any IP address.

Check that "Obtain an IP address automatically" is checked and also "Obtain DNS server address automatically" is also checked. On wireless network tab check "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".

On preferred network check that your wireless network is there, if not add it and move it up

Laptop can't aquire IP address

This sounds to be a compatibility issue with either the wireless software or wireless card. Check to see if there are any updated drivers for the wireless card at IBM's support site. If there aren't any or the card still doesn't work after the updated drivers are installed, then you might try a different/newer internal wireless card, or a universal external wireless card for use with your home system.
