Poor picture quality. Picture also tends to curve

Have an older philips rear projection 60 HDTV. Recently picture quality has gotten very poor. Picture also tends to curve inward at both sides of the screen.
Thinking of replacing lamps, but not sure if this will solve the problem. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, Curtis

The curving is caused by bad digital convergencr chips (2) located on large signal board. They need replaced along with blown pico fuses and the convergence resistors. Chips are huge compared to a regular IC. 2" x 1.5" and they will be bolted on fairly large heatsinks. Cloudy picture is most likely the coolant needs replaced in the picture tubes. This needs to be done approximately every 5 years.

I have a 60 inch philips rear projection tv that is only showing picture briefly when you turn it offf

Since the boards and most parts are not available for this model from Philips the only hope is to have a shop take a look, voltages and other checks MAY reveal what is wrong but I would not spend a ton of money on this set, was prone to a lot of problems and middle of the road as far as picture quality.

I have a Philips 60".

Fluid has leaked out of one or more of your picture tubes ( 3 of them ) I suggest you call a service company asap because that fluid can destroy boards in a hurry.

My tv has sound and no picture

This is a common problem with older Philip Magnavox projection sets. Over time one of the IC chips on the main power board begins to fail. You can find replacment chips and repair instructions on www.magnavoxhelp.com.
