Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I have an old robotics webcam Model #E71335 and wonder if i can hook it up to my desktop computer. I cant find the ports it plugs into. It has 3 connections, 2 black and 1 yellow

If you have a computer tower, preferably an old one from 1997-2004, there should be those color ports on the back of the tower. Plug each one of those jacks into the same color holes and install a driver. That is all I can say. I collect webcams, also.

Hello browderel:

First try rebooting your PC and then plug in your Webcam and see if it gets recognized.
Windows is flaky that way sometimes.
Don't forget to give the thumbs up if this helped at all.

Conection problem

When you get that message re-boot the webcam software by shutting the webcam off for a few seconds
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in, if yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

your computer should always acknowledge the fact that a device is hooked up to the computer via usb or otherwise I would say your webcam is proably dead and in need of a replacement

Will not work with Yahoo messenger

Plug in webcam
Visit this page, using Internet Explorer only !!
Make sure your webcam is displayed and allow time for control software to download onto your computer
Check your wbcam is running at the bottom of the page, before moving on.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger10/webcam/mstacamtest.html
Once your webcam is working here, you know its compatible with Yahoo and you can make your settings.
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the Yahoo software may have difficulty in locating it.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in, if yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, or disable/enable them webcam in Device Manager.

INTERNET CONNECTION
Webcam connected
Open messenger - on top toolbar. Left click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Connection - Select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the lower two boxes > Apply > OK

TESTING
> Messenger > My webcam - the warning panel will launch, click 'OK' and your webcam will start.

DEFAULT WEBCAM
With webcam still running > Messenger > Preferences > Webcam > Camera Source - set your webcam as default using dropbox. > Camera Settings - adjust settings to suit. > Apply > OK
Take a note of any additional software, if you have multiple choice for Camera Source, you may wish to uninstall any redundant webcam software later to prevent conflicts

A4tech black or blank screen problem

Test your webcam here, by hitting "allow" in top window and assess your cam in left panel.
If it works there you know the Hardware is ok (webcam/lead/USB etc)
Test it in Yahoo
Re-boot the webcam by unplugging it from the USB and plugging it back in again
Open Messenger - Click (>) Messenger > My webcam > OK
Your webcam should launch - if it fails to do so you have a software problem.
Try updating your driver from the Imaging folder in Device Manager
Expand the folder, right click on your webcam text and select "Update driver" opt for Internet, when prompted.
No luck ?
Uninstall webcam software from Programs.
Restart computer
Go to A4Tech website and download software
http://www.a4tech.com/ennew/support.asp

Arcsoft webcam companion version 2.0.0.50

Download revo and scan the programs to see if you have any redundant webcam software loaded on your computer creating conflicts - delete if you find any.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Go into device manager - expand imaging file - right click on your webcam and update driver using internet option.

Prior to using your webcam unplug it and plug it back in - it may have been used somewhere else and the software is unable to find it.
