If this is a mechanical timer that controls the cycles. your timer may need replacing but it will not finish the cycle and pause on the fill mode, for the machine will not continue to cycle until the water level has reached your selected load size, a poor/faulty connection at the water valve solenoid, or water level censor can also cause this problem

My Kenmore 80 series model 110 hot water continues to trickle in even after cycle is complete.

The fill valve is not shutting off completely. Sometimes it is necessary to turn off the water supply between wash sessions to prevent this but then you have to remember to turn the water back on the next time you plan to wash

Machine fills too slowly and continues to fill in whole cycle

Remove the water filler hoses at the machine and test the flow of each one. If very slow, check the inlet screens on the faucet ends for plugging and make sure the faucets furnish full flow. The hoses themselves can sometimes become restricting of flow--replace them if so. Next, check the inlet solenoids on the machine for proper flow and shutoff when the power to them is stopped. They may or may not be cleanable--replace them if they are trouble. Hope this helps!

Sometimes my new machine will not fill with water

make sure that your drain hose is coming up ( 90 degrees ) from the base of the machine. and then drains near or close to the height of the machine. the drain hose at least needs to be at a 45 degree angle to fill properly otherwise it will continuosly drain. hope this helps.

The wash cycle runs and runs.

Most diswashers have a complete cycle that lasts over an hour. The machine fills with about 1.5-2 quarts of water, rinses the dishes for a few minutes, then empties the water, then fills again with new water and rinses for a few more minutes, then empties. This is to get a good bit of the looser gunk off the dishes, and to soften up any other stuff that has dried on there. Then the machine fills a third time, the soap door pops open, and it washes for a much longer time to hopefully dissolve away pretty much anything left on the dishes. Then it empties, and does a rinse the soap off cycle, and usually a final cycle that rinses again with a little bit of rinse agent to help them dry quickly.

The whole process uses about 2 gallons of water.

LG washing machine problem

I had the same problem with my LG front load. The second repairman fixed the problem. The water lines going into the machine were clogged with sediment (probably because I have well water). This caused the cups to remain full of water because the water pressure was so low the siphons were not working as they should to empty the cups. This also caused the wash cycles to be extremely long (sometimes 2 hours) because it took so long for the water to enter the machine for the wash & rinse cycles. Since the lines have been cleaned it works fine.
