I have the same problem - but it is a Charter email problem not a keyboard problem. The backspace key quit working suddenly and it doesn't work on ANY computer - so it's not related to the keyboard. I must have inadvertently changed the settings or something...
How long since you've run the computer? Might it be processing and update like when it reboots after installing a service pack? That might be making the computer run slow for a few minutes. Give it a little time to get started and see if your mouse and keyboard begin to work.
If you know the batteries are good, then turn the keyboard over and find the small reset/connect button and press it. This resets /connects the board to the receiver. If it still doesn work, press the button on the receiver and then the mouse. Hope this is of help to you. Bud
You can try blowing it out with compressed air, but you will probably need to remove the keyboard to make sure nothing was spilled or stuck in there. You should be able to remove the keyboard by removing the battery, then removing the keyboard securing strip, and then you should be able to take a screwdriver and pry the keyboard up and out.
If it is just one letter then you most likely have a bad keyboard.
Try an external keyboard, if the 'c' is still not working with the external then it's probably some weird software issue. But, if the 'c' is ok on the external you will probably have to replace the keyboard. Replacement keyboard are pretty easy to find on ebay or the web and are usually very easy to replace.
