Emerson dvd player will not turn on

Other than a bad fuse inside it is most likely a power supply problem inside the unit----usually cheaper to replace the unit as few if any parts for this brand in their equipment are available.

Won't turn on

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
  1. Power outlet, wall adapter, or batteries are dead (as appropriate).
  2. Damage to line or wall adapter cord or plug.
  3. Bad connections or faulty component in power supply (including blown fuse).
  4. Defective microcontroller.

Not getting power tried multiple working outlets still nothing

For a average DVD player it is either a fuse inside or a bad power supply in the unit.

If not the fuse and not an expensive unit--repair will not be worth it--buy another player as here I see them brand new for as little as twenty dollars.

Installed DVD player stopped working possible fuse

It is possible that you have a blown fuse. In this vehicle there are 3 possible fuses that you can check. Under the hood on the drivers side you will find the fuse and relay center. Remove the plastic top by depressing the tabs, You will see under the cover a list of fuses and locations. Look for the IOD or Instrument on Demand fuse, it should be a yellow 10amp fuse. You can remove it and visually look to see if it's bad. The next fuse will be the RDO or Radio fuse, again remove it and inspect the small wire inside to see if it's blown. The last fuse will be the IGN-Batt fuse. This fuse can be moved from on side or the other so note it's location, either to the left or right before removing. This fuse lets you choose to have power on in the vehicle from the battery even without the key on in the BATT position. Again you can remove it and inspect the fuse.
If you find any fuse blown, (the little wire broken inside) you should only replace it with a fuse of the same size. These fuses are mini fuses and can be purchased at any auto parts store or local service garage. If you don't find any of these fuses blown you may want to check the DVD player out in another vehicle to insure that it doesn't have a problem. It too has a fuse which may either be located inside the DVD player or if it's a direct install player it will have an inline fuse. Thanks D.R. Wilkins

It wont turn on even when pluged in

I recommend removing the cover. Check too see if the glass fuse inside is bad. There should be a thin wire inside the fuse that runs all the way across it. It is broken or burnt, then it's bad.

If the fuse is good, then you may want to get a voltmeter and test the power going from power supply (power converter) to the main circuit board. Make sure the reading is the same as the label on the back of the player that says DC Voltage Output. If not, it is bad.

No Power

Unplug from the mains and check the fuse in mains cable plug first, if good open up dvd player, there should be 4 screws on the side and 4 at the back, once undone gently lift the metal caseing upwards and towards you when facing the front of the dvd player, inside the player you should see the mainboard (pcb) on it somwhere there should be 1 or 2 small fuses, get hold of a multimetre with continuity testing capabilities, pop out the fuses from the fuse holder and test them, if they are bad that is your problem you can buy them from a electronic store like Maplins.
Post back with your findings.cheers

No power to ''coby'' dvd player. Tried unplug for 30 minutes, still no power.

Bad Cord.
Blown fuse inside the case.
or if those easy repairs won't work your power board may be fried, time to see a repairman.

I have a trutech undercounter mount DVD/TV combo. It was working fine, and all of a sudden it turned off and will not come back on. We checked the outlet and it is fine.

Unplug the power cord from wall outlet and take the unit apart follow the power cord inside the unit it goes to the fuse. Check the fuse most of the time the fuse is bad.

LG DVD PLAYER THE INSIDE FUSE KEEPS BLOWING IVE BOUGHT THE SAME FUSES BUT STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM

1. THERE SHOULD BE A SHORT CIRCUIT SOMEWHERE
2. THE WATTAGE YOUR DVD PLAYER IS CONNECTED TO IS HIGH
3. THE FUSE RATING IS LESS THAN REQUIRED OR NEEDED
4. YOUR HOME VOLTAGE IS LOW

5. SOLUTION, TRY USE A VOLTAGE STABILIZER BETWEEN YOUR SOCKET/POWER OUTLET AND YOUR DVD UNIT.
THIS SHOULD SOLVE ISSUES RELATED TO VOLTAGE OR CURRENT.

6. CHECK THE NAME PLATE FOR YOUR LG DVD PLAYER OR MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR APPROPRIATE FUSE RATING AND CORRECT IF WRONG.

7. CHECK FOR ANY ABLE BRIDGING OR ANY METAL (EVEN IF IT IS A STRAND) CONTACTING TWO CIRCUITS TOGETHER.

8. CHECK MAYBE THE MOTOR DRIVING THE LASER HEAD IS BAD. COULD CAUSE THE FUSE TO BLOW DUE TO EXCESSIVE CURRENT AND INABILITY TO ROTATE.
