-   We have the same problem on our Whirlpool washer duet, front load. It was clogged, got most of the clog out, but we are concerned that the pump is not working correctly. How do we know if the pump has failed? Is it worth a service call and a new pump, or would it cost less to get a new washer. We have had this washer for only 4 years. -   merlin497

-   Yes F02 error. Definitely some crud in the exterior drain hose. I poured water into the pipe and it seems to drain fine. I have now proceeded with removing the back panel and looking at the dark water remaining in the interior hose. Obviously there is a pump failure, whether this is to do with the pump itself or that there is so much sediment (crud) obstructing the flow is yet to be determined. 3 years ago I had a suds error and ventured into the back of the machine and pulled out a baby sock from the ball in the black hose beneath the wash basin. Put it back togehter and it's worked fine since. My only problem now is if it's the pump itself how the heck do I get to it. And is there electrical stuff-to-do with installing a new one?-   cheery4u

If this is a Kenmore or Whirlpool model, an "F02" error code indicates a "Long Drain" problem. This means you need to inspect your drain line and or pump to ensure there is nothing obstructing the drain. Can you please post back to confirm correct Manufacturer and Model number?
