Question about Televison & Video

I have bought an Acoustic Solution DVD Hard drive recorder and the channel and date changes on it when iv programmed in for recording. I have Sky channels that i am trying to record is this the problem, I notice that this is an analogue recorder could this be the problem. I obviously do not need a recorder with freeview and cannot get it in my area, but if I buy one if the analogue is the problem can I then program it to sky.

Analogue Recoders are not totally programmable but does not follow certain features you want like setting the time and fixed channel for recording.

to answer your questions, Sky channels is not a problem for your recording...

thanks for using fixya.

Most likely your sky box has analog outputs that can connect to the recorder's inputs. Everything but DVI and HDMI is analogue. Also if you want the recorder to control your recorder you need an IR blaster of some sort that connects to the recorder and sticks in from of the remote control receiver on the box you want controlled, then by programming the proper remote code into the recorder if can control your TV.

I was unable to find any information on Acoustic Solutions as it seems there website is down. Hopefully the information I provided makes sense. Good Luck!

Plug your recorder into the SCART connection labelled VCR and plug that into a SCART connector on your recorder.

You need to connect up the Sky+ to your recorder via scart. This will eliminate poor picture quality. The Sky box will be on ext1 on your recorder or something like that

Watching another channel while recording

Hi there! Sorry but you can't unless you have My Sky/HD recorder. The sky decoder is simply a one channel watch decoder. You can only record a sky channel and watch the channels normally provided via your VHF and UHF aerials connected to the decoder or vice versa.
My Sky fixes that although you cannot record to a dvd disc on this thing and the privilege comes at a price of course!
