The hard drive hardware has failed. This drive is either dead due to a circuit board error, motor or spindle failure.

Unmountable boot

Hi
You will need to get the original windows disk you was sent.
Put it in the laptop and run the 'RECOVERY CONSOLE'
this should bring up a command line, (command prompt)

Type :
1. fixboot
2. chkdsk /r /f

If they both fail you will either have to put your hard drive on a cradle and write another boot directory to it, or you will have to reformat it.

Start you're computer on safe mode an run you're antivirus

Using the F8 Method:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Windows 7 Advanced Boot Options screen as shown in the image below.

  3. Using the arrow keys, select the Safe Mode option you want.
  4. Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Windows 7 Safe Mode.
  5. When Windows starts you will be at a typical logon screen. Logon to your computer and Windows 7 will enter Safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you require, and when you are done, reboot to go back into normal mode.

After windows screen it goes blank, i know the lcd works because i can choose F2 or F12 and read and choose anything there however when i command it it just goes blank, no cursor, just blue / black ..blank

If the system will not complete boot, try the F8 boot menu and select safe mode and see if the system will boot to windows.
If the system boots to windows, you could have software issues or a startup item causing the system to hang at boot, try turning off the startup group items in MSCONFIG (Start, run, MSCONFIG) and see if the system will boot in normal mode.
If that is not help, hold the Fn Key while pressing the power buttong this should start PSA diagnostics on the system, see if any hardware fails

My computer is very slow loading up

Just try to boot in safe mode by pressing F8 key when you starting the laptop and see it works.

If it starting in safe mode then go to run type msconfig and choose the startup option and disable all and restart the system and check. Still it is not working then you need to reformat the system.

Try to start your computer into a safe mode and then remove the old graphic card driver but if you cant get to safe mode then probably theres a problem with your operating system. Consider reformat and install a fresh copy of any OS you prefered.

Error message: unmountable boot volumn

Yes you can save your computer. But if you are running Windows XP, you need the Windows XP CD. Boot with that CD and at the first prompt, press "r" to get to the repair option.
Press 1 to choose your windows instalaltion and then at the prompt, type the following

chkdsk /r

this might take some time but at the end, type the work exit and you should be back in business.

You can also force the system into safe mode. You click on startup and type in msconfig. Click the general tab and select diags and the system will reboot to safe mode. Change it back to normal to get your system out of safe mode.

Restart always

sounds like a reload of the operating system, and or your hard drive is corrupt. See if it will boot into safe mode (F8) on startup. You can also run diagnostics on it by holding down the FN key when you push the power button and see what happens.
