Question about Kenwood KDC-MP3035 CD Player

The aux input will not work

I hooked it up last night and everything seemed to be working well. When I tried to navigate through the twisted labyrinth of the menu options, however, I could not get the aux input in the back to play. I know the problem has to be that either 1 the aux input doesn't exist in the SRC, or more likely I'm too dense to figure it out.

The instructions are very hard to follow.

You must go back into the menu and turn on aux otherwise the head unit will not recognise the aux devise that you are trying to plug in

I hooked up an aux cable to my KDC-MO4028 but the aux input option is not coming up as an option for one of the sources.

Hi David,

A decent info page for this radio and options is at Crutchfiled. They seems to provide good / very good information on all the products they sell. Service and pricing is up to you. To use Aux inputs, you need to purchase and connect the optional Aux Input Adapter (picture below).

10_2_2011_12_12_05_pm.gif

Crutchfield sells these for about $20, and they plug into the jack on the rear of the radio. The jacks on the cables attached to the radio are preamp outputs - not inputs; and will not work as an input.

Here's a link to the manual (free download). Good luck!

Auxillery in question

yes you can hook up your mp3 to an aux input on a stereo not sure what you mean by converter typically it is done through a 3.5mm - 3.5mm standard audio cable. and in order to do this your reciever must have an aux input of course and if so then you can toggle the mode of input by pressing the Mode or button that switches from radio to cd etc or consult with your users manual to find out how to switch and if aux input method is supported

Ipod worked with my pioneer deh-p3700mp before

this works on some other pioneer head units i encountered it may work on yours.
Shut it off and hold the function button until the options appear then you can scroll through and change a bunch of settings including the aux input

I-Pod hook up

I think the red/white RCA plugs on the back of the CDE-7858 are outputs for the sub-woofer -- they won't work for aux inputs like iPod.  According to Alpine dealers, the 7858 will not accept an aux input -- bummer, I had the same desire. R, Jim

Mp3 to aux input

Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.

Audio In not working

If i recal correctly, you need to access the menu (go to standby, then press and hold control key) and navigate to the aux in setting and turn it on, or else it does not even show as a source option.

Aux port doesn't show; Button is Stuck

Hello,

I don't know if you have figured out how to turn the AUX port on yet, but I just figured it out. First, turn the CD Player off by quickly pushing the "Source" button. This is also the volume knob. Then, after the player is off, hold down the "Source" button. This will bring up the initial setup. Use the arrow keys to navigate through the options. One of the options is to turn the AUX port on. Once this is finished, turn the unit back on and you're ready to go.
