Unplug the dryer, remove these screws. Get the front off. The heater will be in a mailbox. Note: The element cost around 10 bucks you do not need to buy the whole mailbox which could be way expensive.Need to locate the heater for the Maytag Dryer - f9f5c6b.jpg

Where do I buy belt for Maytag de308 dryer?

There are various different appliance parts suppliers that you can find online to purchase a belt for your dryer. A couple of them are Sears parts direct, repairclinic.com. You could also check locally to see if you have a repair parts place in your town.

Your belt is a 312959

It goes back on like this:

Notice the slick side of the belt goes to the drum.
Get the belt down in the groove on the tub and you will have trouble.

Use zoomspout oil to lube the rollers and idler. It is safe for dryers and can be purchased at Ace hardware stores. Clean her up and party on!

How do i change the belt on a model No. DE308 maytag dryer

Hi

To change the belt you'll need to remove the top paenl and then remove the drum and you would be able to see the belt. You can disassemble it by the following procedure--

Drum Removal / Roller / Glide Access--

  • Disconnect power supply to unit.
  • Remove Top Cover and Front Panel,

Top Cover / Door Switch / Front Panel /Gasket Removal-

1. Disconnect power supply to unit.
2. Use a plastic putty knife to depress the locking clip between the Top Cover and Front Panel.
3. Disconnect wiring from the Door Switch.
4. Depress the locking tabs on switch side and remove through the front.
5. Remove two screws, 1 each side, from the back flange of the Front Panel.
6. Tip Front Panel back and remove. Rotate Front Panel to the back side and remove gasket.

Hope this helps...

My Maytag Dryer model DE308 takes 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. I have air flow, but after an hour, the clothes are still damp. THe dryer does not have the heat that it used to. I know that with the...

Good day,
Your right on the heating element.
If your positive the vent system to the outside is clean, then
Remove the front panel of the dryer, and inspect the blower wheel. If worn on the shaft(slipping), it needs replaced.
2. Remove the whole front panel to access the blower housing and the chute going to the lint filter. Clean as needed. (common problem).
3. If everything checks clean, then the thermostat that is mounted on top of the heating element canister is the most common problem but is only one of the thermostats.

Maytag uses a lot of air versus heat for drying. That is why it is important that part of the system is correct.

Maytag Atlantis dryer no heat

The heating element and thermostat are located behind the front panel of the dryer. you will need to remove the door, then the retaining screws. the heater / element is located on the left side as you are facing the front of the dryer and has to sheet meta screws (upper back top / and front bottom) which will need to be removed. the unit has several colored wires for the thermostat and switch. remove these (remember which goes where) and the enitre unit will come out easily.
