If the unit works with the charger plugged in, but not with the battery, the most likely problem is the battery itself. Replac the battery. While possible, it is rare for the charging system to fail within the laptop. Let us know if the new battery has problems.

Telecom r100 battery

It could be one of these three things.
1. Bad port. Often in laptops these ports become loose.
2. Bad battery.
3. Bad charger.

Borrowing either a universal power charger, or the charger from someone with a similar laptop, can eliminate some of the possibilities unless it is indeed your charging port.

If after plugging it in, the battery charges you know you had a bad charger. If the battery fails to charge, you know its time for a new battery. Again this only if the port itself is not bad.

Universal chargers can be expensive. You can find batteries and chargers on Ebay for a decent price.

Laptop died suddenly and is not charging

Take the battery out and discharge the capacitors by holding down the power button for 15 seconds. plug in the charger without the battery in to see if you get a charge light. If you do, replace battery and plug in charger and power on laptop. If this does not work, you may have to pull the cmos battery for 15 minutes and try it again.

Have pluged in charger in laptop but it will not charge. have tried the charger on the other laptop and the charger is working

Hi, If Battery Light is blinking orange, then it could be that your battery is toast and that you need a new battery. That'll cost you about $50.00 for a new one.

Computer wont charge. Plugged up and still wont charge. Is it internal, battery or charger?

I'm not asking if the computer will charge, I'm asking if when you have it plugged in does the computer operate normally. You should be able to take the battery out of a laptop and plug in the computer in and the computer should still operate.

When i plug in my charger to my laptop it doesnt work and i dont know whats wrong with it

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities. 1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge.
2.- Battery is bad.
3.- Battery charger board is bad.

Solutions:
1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge
Verify that the AC and or DC cable is not bad by testing the computer only with the power plug connected and the battery out of the laptop.
2.- Battery is bad
It is possible that if the power plug is good that the computer battery is bad. Leave the computer connected to the power with the battery connected in the computer for at least one hour; if the battery does not charge, consider having the battery and/or the laptop serviced or repaired.
If the computer and/or battery is not in warranty consider just replacing the battery as it is very likely that it is just a bad battery.
3.- Battery charger board is bad
If the battery has been replaced or an alternate battery from an alternate identical laptop does not work in the computer, it is likely that the power or charger board within the laptop is bad. It is recommended that the laptop be serviced or repaired.

This will fix your problem.

I have a dell computer that no longer will charge the battery. How do I determine if the problem is a bad battery or faulty charging system?

You can eliminate the possibility of a faulty charging system by testing the output of your charger that connects with the laptop. You can do this by attaching one end of a bulb (rating approximates the voltage output of the charger) to one end of the charger (+ or -) and the other to the opposite end. Using a thin wire will do the trick. If it lights, then your charger is working. If it doesn't, your battery could be the likely problem.

AC Adapter stopped working

SmitFraud is not capable of doing actual hardware harm. It can be a pain to get rid of it software wise, but it can't do any harm to the physical machine. I think you've just had bad timing with this problem.

If the charger isn't charging, there's one of two problems. Either the charger itself is faulty, and it's not thinking the battery is charged when it isn't, or the battery is faulty. I would personally take your laptop into a shop that sells the same kind, explain the problem and ask if you can plug one of their adapters into your laptop. If the light comes on and immediately goes out, it's the battery. If it comes on and stays on, it's your charger. Either way you can find out which it is before you have to spend money on a replacement. Do be sure to do it with the shops permission, though - they won't like it if you help yourself, and you might find yourself swiftly banned from the premises.
