Question about Sony ACID Pro 7 for PC

Open Question

Audio popping in anything I record in Acid Pro 7

Hi I have a custom Windows 7 64-bit system with a lot of power. I recently downloaded the trial of Acid Pro 7 because my old Sonar 3 software hasn't been recording sound right, with countless popping noises in my recorded audio tracks. Well, when I tried out Acid Pro 7, the popping is still very present like before and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I'm using a Creative Audigy II Soundblaster sound card with the latest drivers. It's probably the oldest piece of hardware in my system. My OS was installed only but a couple months ago. I have 6GB of Corsair XMS, an Intel Core 2 Duo x6800, and a WD Raptor hard drive. My hardware is more than capable to record audio, so I'm not understanding the issue. Another point is I get an error message when I try to use my Creative ASIO recording devices because my setting "doesn't support my current sample rate or bit depth", which I can't find a setting anywhere to change. But the main thing is the popping... It's just ruining everything. Please help, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks

SOURCE: timing problem!! help needed badly!

Your solution is to delay or speed up the sound that your running thru to your computer. The reason why they put user recording latency under the options then preferences then audio settings is not because this never happens or isn't know about. If your sound is too late in the track you have to re-record the track with a higher number try about 125-160. A hint is to play some notes to the beat, check to see that you are in time, then record what you are planning to record.

SOURCE: Can not record audio anymore

Does it create a track but there is nothing in it? Turn off your anti-virus software when you record, thats how I got mine to work. Kaspersky anti-virus was making it trip offline.

SOURCE: I have a Fostex DMT-8vl 8 track digital recorder.

You can copy. You cannot just dump the file data. Unless you have an audio interface with multiple inputs, you can only copy 2 tracks at a time. Also, to sync the timing you'll need a midi port on the computer. Then you make the computer the "master" and the Fostex a "slave" device.

How to change an operating system on the c:/ drive without destroying the information on the drive. Your email address: JCMCJMC68@YAHOO.COM

Your motherboard has to accept 64 bit OS before anything. If it is 32 bit only it will never load a 64 bit operating system. The easiest way to keep all your pictures, music and any other data files is to transfer them to an external USB drive. If you don't have the original software installation disks the software you have on the C drive won't run because the registry will have to be rebuilt. If you do get the 64 bit version of 7 to work, you'll have to upgrade most of your existing software to 64 bit versions. Example: installing a 32 bit version of Word will not run on a 64 bit machine.

I recently updated to windows 7 from vista. im having loads of problems with my intel chipset with integrated graphics...i got the windows 7 drivers for it already and im still having problems idk if its...

You'll need to access the computer manufacturer's support site to find the appropriate 64-bit driver for this chipset. If you post the make/model of computer I can probably assist with that.

Hope that's helpful.

I purchased Windows 7 Home premium. It came with two installation disks. One 32 bit and one 64. Since my computer was a 32 bit machine that is the disk I used. Since the I have purchased a new computer...

You have to understand that you only paid for one installation whether it was 32 or 64. But you can google operating systems and a lot will pop up. Ubuntu is popular and free.

Hi, we recently bought a new pc with Windows 7 on it, but now it won't let me print anything on it! We've had a look to see if there are any drivers that we need to download, but we've hit a brick wall.

While there is no Lexmark P6350 driver specific for Windows 7, you can use the Vista driver instead. Check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going to Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. Then download the driver using this link: http://bit.ly/cOKdZC(for 32-bit) or this link: http://bit.ly/aOHeX2(for 64-bit). Execute the file to install the driver.

I buy a new laptop a samsung r440 and i work with windos 7. I install the drivers of the ux1 downloaded from line 6, but when i hear music or im using the gearbox. I can play only 2 min app. and it goes...

it could be a software error, it could be a hardware error. it could also be a trial version of the program your trying to run.

Windows Vista and windows 7 are both GARBAGE operating systems, and have compatibility issues with everything. they even have problems with their own software crashing and such. Im not bashing your operating systems ( i actually love windows 7 ) but i only use it when i have to, because its slow and it has lots of ISSUES.
when in doubt ~ try uninstalling the software , restart the pc, then reinstall it and see it it gets better. SOME STUFF JUST WILL NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS. and if you have 64 bit like me LOTS of stuff isnt programmed for 64 bit operating systems, so they screw up all the time

Hello, I've downloaded acid pro 7 trial version E, on windows 7, when it executes it starts to try to load all my dll files on my computer...weird any help would be appreciated jazzmeus

I have not used acid since version 6.0, but used to have the same problem.

You might want to go into the settings of acid and change the plug-ins folder to something else. Solution would be to create your own plug-ins folder somewhere on your pc, and point acid to that folder.
If you have it set to the C drive, or the program files folder, that is your problem. Acid is scanning your entire system for plug-ins, instead of just one folder. (plug-ins are also .dll files)

The same goes for the virtual instruments settings in acid.

You might also want to disable the media manager from running when acid starts, it seems to cause a lot of systems to hang. If yours does not, and you use the manager, strike the last idea.

Good luck.

Hi. There are Microsoft drivers available for download in the Lexmark website. If your using Vista or Windows 7, check if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going to Start > right click on Computer > Properties. Then click on this link to the Lexmark website. http://bit.ly/9faEwK . On the bottom of the page, you'll see dropdowns for Microsoft, Macintosh and Linux/Unix operating system. For Vista, choose Microsoft Vista for 32-bit or Microsoft Vista X64 for 64-bit. For Windows 7, choose Windows 7 for 32-bit or Windows 7 X64 for 64-bit. Download the Driver but not the Firmware update. Hope this helps.

I have a dell inspiron 9300 laptop runing windows xp. i want to download the trial version of sony vegas pro 9. do download 32bit or 64bit version --or does it matter? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Right click on My Computer on your desktop and select Properties. If you have a 64-bit system it should say so in the window that pops up. It would say x64 after the Operating System name or 64 bit near the bottom. If it does not say, it is a 32 bit system.

You can also select Start>Run, type winmsd in the box and press ENTER. In the right pane look for Processor. If it is a 64 bit system the Processor line will start with ia64 or AMD64. If a 32 bit system it will start with x86.

Thanks for using Fixya.
