No. There should be no water once the dishwasher cycle is completed. Water indicates a problem, often some debris stuck in the waste water pump at the base of the machine. Remove the lower front panel to get access to it. Joe

Water stays in the bottom of dishwasher after cylcling

If the water is clean and only about an inch deep or less, this is normal and almost every dishwasher keeps some water in the bottom to prevent the seals / gaskets from drying out.

If the water is not clean and there is an odor, please report back here and we can take the next step. Is so, please note approximately how full of left over water the dishwasher is. OK?

Standing water at drain in dishwasher after using.  Is this normal or should the water drain completely.

Most dishwashers leave a small amount of water in the bottom to keep the seals lubricated. If it is only a small amount of water it should be normal.

Water and odor collecting in our empty dishwasher after 4-5 days

A small amount of water may be normal.  Clean the filter at the bottom of the tub.  Sprinkle some baking soda inside between washes.

Ran on normal cycle when done 2 inches of water on bottom

Test by restarting the cycle and see if water drains if it does not then there is either a blockege in the pipe ,pump,or in the machine where the water passes out normally through a filter if you have checked and cleaned out filter and drain pipe and there is still no draining then listen to the pump if you can hear a humming niose then there is something in the pump itself and you need to take it out and inspect the impelar houseing remove what ever is there put back and enjoy if there is no noise and pump is clean then it is proberly fualty and nedd replaceing.
