Can you hook the laptop up to an external monitor to see if you get video...otherwise we'll have to try some other stuff that requires a bit more time.

Activating crisis mode for toshiba satellite a215-s7422

If you mean safe mode, as soon as you turn on the computer start pressing the F8 button about once a second. That should bring you to the safe mode option.

Toshiba satellite a215-s7422 fan not running can i replace fan? how?

Replacing your fan will void your warranty.

I would advise talking to toshiba for a replacement.

If still you want to replace ir, you have to disassemble the whole laptop to replace the fan, all you have to do once disassembled is unplug the original one and plug the replacement one, but you have to use only compatible ones, or else you will burn your cpu or the fan wont fit.

For a quick resolution, buy a powerfol laptop cooler.

Cheers

Put the laptop back together, its possible youve damaged one of the boards, and the "coin sounds" you hear are jsut beeps from the motherboard indication some form of system failure. call toshiba and see if you have any warranty coverage, and out of curiosity what did you drop on it? something heavy i presume?

Overheating trouble?

It sounds to me that your laptop fan is either clogged with dust or the bearings have jammed. Its most likely going to be necessary to open up the laptop and clean or replace the fan. This will require an experienced technician to avoid risking further damage. I have done it and its tedious at best. No other solution will work.

My toshiba satellite a215-s7422 is overheating i think. it's been shutting off suddenly with no warning and the fan doesn't seem to be blowing like usual...

turn it off turn it over and clean the fan on the bottom. I use a Satellite a25. I have used air to blow out the cooling coils a nunber of times. Toshiba has picuten in the owners manual on how to remove the fan for cleaning. it picks up dust from the work area and does not blow it clear. this cause it to over heat most likely
