Many of the telephones have a built in answering machine. The beeps are to let you know you have a message you have not picked up yet. This to help you not miss messages. Check your owners manual to see if you can turn off or mute the message warning tone.
It may have reached the number of cycles to trigger a delime warning. Either follow the procedure in your operator manual to delime, or go into the control board settings and either change or turn off the delime timer
The beeps are telling you that you have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. To get rid of the beeps you need to listen to the messages. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing your voicemail system.
Dial Pad and Button Beeps Digital telephones can emit a “beep” sound whenever a dial pad or feature button is pressed. The “beeps” are On by default. Follow these steps to turn the “beeps” On or Off on 3000-series DKTs. 1. Press 3+6+9+Hold(simultaneously). 2. Press 0. 3. Press Feature Button 1 (FB1) to toggle On/Off. FB1, LED On: buttons beep. FB1, LED Off: buttons do not beep. 4. Press hold to set the option. 5. You must also go off-hook, then on-hook to exit the program mode.
There can be several reasons for this beep:
1. The phone needs a good charge before using again.
2. The phone was default programmed to beep when not on the base.
3. There is a message to be retrieved which has not been located and looked at yet.
4. Another set has left a message and needs retrieval.
These are a few.
I hope this helps, let me know
Your manual will tell you about this on page 4.
I had the same problem.
Here is the solution that I received from Motorola tech support:
1.Delete all messages
2. Unplug the power and re-apply power
3. Quickly press and release << (previous message) and >> (next message) buttons together while the "Press review to receive setup instructions" message is playing.
The display will change from a segment scanning clockwise to anti-clockwise
4. Quickly press and release the On/Off button before the "Press review to receive setup instructions" ends. The display will change to a square scanning clockwise.
Note, this goes by quickly. I had to repeat steps 1-4 a couple of times before I got it right.
5. Press and release the delete button. The unit will emit a beep.
6. Press and release the on/off button. The unit will emit another beep and annouce "Press review to receive setup instructions"
Done!
