Sounds like a clog somewhere. I would check the clean water resorvoir as well as the hose inlets to make sure there is not a foreign object plugging it.

Is the lid for the tank locked on all the way round? The filter on the underside of this lid should have a 1/4 gap from the lid to the top of the filter. Is the duct in place, front of the tank. Any of these will cause the problem.

I need a manual for model number F5853-900

HI There,

Unfortunately I couldn't find a manual for the F5853 specifically, but I did look up comparable models to yours, and the F5857 is nearly identical to yours.

Here's a link to that manual on Hoover's website:

http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F5857955.pdf

If you have a question on how to do something in particular, please don't hesitate to ask me, I'm always more then happy to help.

If this was helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair, or leave feedback for me.

Thanks again,

Chris Jones

Have a Hoover SteamVac with 5 brushes and it will not suck up any water and I have cleaned all the brushes but it still wont pick up any water

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Part of the problem is with your holding tank, there is a rubber gasket that seals the unit to pup the water and if that gasket is cracked or missing it will not pup. Also there could be something wrong with the suction motor or the Hoover SteamVac may be clogged and will not pup the water, if there is a way to say back track the suction then follow the suction back to the suction motor and if you see a clog – remove it. Otherwise you may have a bad suction motor and it would need replacing as a last resort. If the Hoover SteamVac is less than one year factory warranty it would be covered under the Hoover factory warranty and then feel free to contact the local Hoover Factory Authorized Dealer in your area, so call the cust serv @ Hoover and they can direct you to a dealer that would cover this under warranty. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

I read the manual and tried my new Hoover, the brushes spin, but the waters not going to the bottom tank, what does that mean and what can i do?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You could have a bad water release valve on your water tank of which holds the water, the trigger assm might not be connected, bent or broken. Check the trouble shooting owners manual --- also there are hoses that could be crimped or bent, or clogged or not connected, but it is my guess it is the water release valve. Try to back track the water from the holding tank and test all the valves on the system and you might find the problem by the process of elimination. Feel free to contact you local vacuum cleaner dealer in the yellow pages or contact the Hoover Co @ the information listed below:

I have had my Hoover Floormate for years. It has always worked great but the last few times I used it the amount of water left is tremendous and the container for dirty water was not full at all. I looked at it and the hose going up from the bottom thru the handle is broken how do I fix this.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum. You can down load the owner manual from the Hoover website www.hoover.com . It looks like the one of the holding or recovery tanks my not be in place, leaking, cracked or damaged, or the clear tube is leaking and needs replacing. I looked 2 the owner’s manual and it does not show the clear tube but the vacuum does come apart and just back track the clear tube and mark the screws when you disassemble the unit. Other wise , please call the factory or a local Hoover warranty station in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
