The @ sign on my keyboard won't work!

When trying to type the @ sign into an email address or word document, the only character that appears is the ' sign. I am having to copy and paste the @ sign from the internet as I am unable to type it. Any suggestions?

I don't know if it's gona be helpful, several times I had the same problem. I fixed this problem pressing different combination of keyboard key. I can't figure out exact one. On my laptop I tried combination with ALT key. This time it was my desktop keyboard, I tried every single combination with ALT and nothing... I was so mad I just press Caps Lock+Shift+Ctrl, my keyboard make a sound and guess what it helps @@@@@@@@@@

Go to control panel on start menu. You may have to click Classic View. Click Regional and Language options. Click middle tab at the top called Languages. Click the Details button. Click Add and select the English UK option from the drop down list. Apply and Ok.

Can't think of anything else at the minute, that's the standard fix for wrong characters. Search google and the replies are the same.

I think its a regional configuration problem. I remember in the same situation either alt Q or control alt Q worked for some reason.

Alt code 9791

Some software won't let you type those characters directly.

You can run "Character Map" to find the desired characters, type the codes into the "Characters to copy:" pane, click the Copy button, paste them to a line within your document, and copy/paste from that string as needed. The System character set has those characters.. they're not shown, but the Alt key combinations display the characters needed.

I was able to paste the character in this post, but I got the message "Please use English characters only" so I had to remove it before I could post.

I'm trying to make copyright sign

If you're using windows go to the start menu, type character map in the search bar and open it. Click on the copyright symbol and you can see what your computers keyboard keystroke is at the bottom right. I think you can also double click the symbol and then click copy, then just paste it into your document (ctrl+v)

There was a problem! Please check all email addresses. Looks like one of them may not be formatted correctly.

That error message displays when there is some technical problem with one or more recipient email addresses or the punctuation between addresses (in the "To", "Cc" or "Bcc" field). If you have multiple recipients, it may take some time to identify the error.

It's often difficult to analyze email addresses in the small field on the Yahoo Mail web page. I would suggest copying those addresses (highlight the entire field, then right-click+Copy) and pasting into a blank text editor such as Notepad (right-click+Paste).

You can then review the list of recipient addresses more easily. You may wish to insert line breaks, so you can look at each address on a separate line.

Some things to check:

(1) Make sure each email address is a fully qualified address (with user name, followed by "@" sign, and then domain name - no blank spaces in the address).

(2) Quotation marks are not needed; but if you wish to use them, make sure there is exactly one completed set (no more, no less) - with one quote mark at the start of the address, and one mark at the end of that address (like this: "someone@somedomain.com")

(3) If a recipient is listed by name as well as address, make sure the email address is enclosed in angle brackets, like this:
novaweb_25.gif
Quote marks are not needed; but if you wish to use them, they should surround the entire name & address combination, like this:
novaweb_26.gif

(4) Make sure there is just one comma or just one semi-colon (and no other punctuation mark) between each address in the list of recipients.

(5) Make sure there are no extraneous characters in the recipient list. Every character should be part of an email address (or combined name+email), or a comma/semi-colon separating the addresses.

Typing and appearance on screen of letters typed is sporadic, non responsive. Typing in Word or any other site is normal - only happens when typing an email in Yahoo.

Hello,
Try to configure the character set used by default (language etc.). Server may be too busy also. Type your Email message in Word or Notepad, Select all CTRL A, copy CTRL C. Go to the Email window and CTRL V paste.
Hope it helps.

How i w'ill use hindi font's in microsoft word 2007 as I don't have hindi fonts please tell me how to gain hindi font's and how to install and use them

Open Microsoft word and select Symbol in insert menu. Select font as Mangal and subset as Devanagiri. Here u find all the characters that are required to type any alphabet.

Suppose if you want to type "अपुन अच्छा लडका है" Insert the following symbols in the order. Neglect + and <> signs. I just placed it for seperation.

अ + प + ु +न <> अ + च + ् + छ + ा + ल + ड + क + ा <> ह + ै

While typing the characters, you will observe the related characters merging themselves. After typing the required message, just copy and paste the characters wherever you want. Soon after u paste the message.. u may notice blank squares appearing instead of message (in Googletalk window for example).. Dont worry.. The tweak works after you save it/send it.
