This is a model which was part of a rather large class action lawsuit a few years ago. Most were if original owner exchanged for a new model.

Many had problems where the lamp would repeatedly fail. I know as the shop I work for was involved in the exchange program and we would pick up the old set (problem or not) and deliver a newer model to the customer.

We did Panasonic authorized repairs and they did want the old sets back but told us to take anything out of them we wanted as they were just going to scrap whatever got returned to them.

The most common failure in these sets was the Ballast which is really the power supply that fires the lamp up went bad. At one point in time they completely ran out of replacements and had a "kit" where the supply had to be removed and several parts in it replaced out of hand.

I did this several times in people's homes. A newer replacement Ballast eventually arrived but it is pricey and not a do it your self job to get at, remove and replace.

For your information my recent research shows:

Manufacturer Panasonic Part Number LSEB3087A Description PC BOARD List $160.25 Your price $127.38 Core charge $250.00The board in a metal box is sold on exchange basis as they really do not want to have to continue producing parts for this model.

Some of the sets we picked up actually worked fine but by then the word was out.

Let me know if you have questions or need advice as I am here to help you.

I have a PT-50LC13 and I bought a ballast repair kit. I am having problems taking the board out. I can't seem to remove the board because those plastic clips wont come off and also a couple of connections won't come off either. How do I get these off?

Trying to replace lamp in HDTV and having trouble. Does not function correctly after putting in new bulb. Boots up and then visuals go black and the green power light keeps flashing. Help?

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

TY-LA1001 Timer reset

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

No power to tv. When i press the power button i only get a blinking green light then it stops and the blinking red light for lamp flashes and keeps flashing

You need to replace your lamp. Also check power supply and ballast board. Most of the time if you replace the lamp it will come back up. After replacing the lamp you will need original remote to reset lamp hours.

Suddenly turned off without warning Sony KDS-50A2000

Hello,

All you need is to open the back cover of the television and check on for dry soldering at the power stage of the printed circuit board, also check for bulged capacitors, if found replace with same rating of voltages , but if otherwise Ur power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope this helout, Good luck....

It is symptom of weak Lamp in your TV, replace Lamp with following part number..

Always buy Sony Original Lamp for your Sony TV and avoid aftermarket/ cheap lamps.

Won't power up

I had the same problem after I replaced my lamp. You need to hold down the:

On
Enter
Down Arrow
Right Arrow

simultaneously - this resets the lamp counter. After I did that my projector fired right back up.
