There are a lot of things that we need to consider before we can anwser that.

First we need to know what type of modem that you are using. It could be a plain modem or a gateway that can support multiple computers. We have to consider your ISP since we need to know if your setup as PPPoE or DHCP. Lastly, your console itself, there is a setting on your console to set a Manual IP or to get it Automatically.

I need to find the clear modem setup pages

HI if your looking how to access your modem page this is what we can try

try to check for the ip address your modem is generating

you can use the default ip address of your modem-192.168.100.1

or you can check for the ip address which your modem generates ofr that

CLICK START>>RUN>>type in CMD>>PRESS ENTER>>BLACK WINDOW POPS UP>>type in

IPCONFIG>>PRESS ENTER..LOOK FOR THE IP ADDRESS(VISTA AND WINDOWS 7) LOOK FOR IPV4 ADDRESS...TYPE THIS IN THE ADDRESS BAR OF YOUR BROWSER(ex-internet explorer)

this should work..............have a great day

I have ethernet cable connected to my cable modem but still wont conect to internet

If it's failing the IP test, that would imply that it can't talk to your router, not the internet, since that's where it gets it's IP address from. (Although XBox may do this with an internet check) So:
-First, have you tried a different ethernet cable to the XBox; one that you know is good?
-Secondly, ports on the switch can go bad without the whole switch failing. Have you tried plugging it in to a different one in the router?
-Assuming you have a dynamic service such as a cable modem, have you tried plugging the XBox directly into that modem wire coming out to the router?

Be sure to power cycle the XBox on each of these checks so you remind it to go out and check for a connection. ( this would be the same as ps3 also)

Cant find IP on hardwired PS3

is that modem setup to a computer before hand? you need it to be programed with a computer then after you access the internet, then hook up the modem to the ps3,

if you bought a new modem then you need to call your provider and have them program it

Cant connect to xbox live need an ip address how do i get one

When the SurfBoard modem is powered up and connects to the internet on the WAN interface, it automatically gets an IP address from your ISP. When another machine is powered up and is connected to the modem via a USB cable, it is automatically using the WAN IP address to communicate with the world. If it is connected via the Ethernet connection, the modem automatically issues it its own IP address for use on the internal network via DHCP. The modem's internal Ethernet connection is 192.168.0.1. The next machine powered on will normally get an IP address of 192.168.0.2.

Cannot share my cable modem connection

You need to connect a router to the cable modem.  The router then gets an IP address from Comcast and provides a gateway between the computers connected to the router.
The modem expects to communicate with a single Ethernet device, and provides an IP address to the first device that provides a piece of data called a MAC address.  By placing a router in-between, the router gets the IP address that lets you communicate on the Internet.  It provides local IP addresses to the equipment connected to the local Ethernet and "routes" those to the Internet.  You can either hook your two devices into the router if it has enough ports, or hook you switch to the router and hook your PC and PS3 into the switch.

PS3 (80GB) Obtain IP Address : Failed, Help?

Try swapping the ends of the ethernet cable between your PS3 and the router. Otherwise, try a different ethernet cable. Also check that there are lights on by your ethernet port on the PS3 and the router.

Change ip

Your IP address is assigned (leased) to you from your internet service provider. With that being said, you could possibly call them and ask to release your old IP address and have them assign a new one. If you happen to have a static IP address assigned from your ISP you can call them as well and ask to have your IP address changed too. It would be up to them to change it though.

Ip and proxy error

well, if you know how to setup the ip addresses manually both on your modem / router and on the ps3 i recommend you do that... but bear in mind that your dhcp server (on your modem / router) should prohibit automatic assignment of that same ip address with your ps3... for that you have to specify a range of automatically assignable ip addresses apart from your ps3...

if you have the dmz (demilitarized zone) option on your modem / router, set it up for the ip address of your ps3, which you've setup manually...

example:

router ip: 192.168.2.1
ps3 ip: 192.168.2.10
ip address pool: 192.168.2.100 - 192.168.2.250 (this shpould be manually setup not to interfere with the fixed ip address of the ps3)
dmz host: 192.168.2.10 (ip address of the ps3, which enables "opens" all of the ports for this ip address)

apart from that if you use any proxy servers to connect to the net, you have to specify these in ps3 settings as well...

there are a lot of threads on various forums on how to tweak your network connection to optimize for ps3...

i hope this solves your problem...
