The gateway at the remote end may be down. Ensure that the remote gateway runs fine. See whether the application server (80.0.75.62) has communication with remote gateway.

Run Silent, Run Deep

Overhead reduction is the least commonly used concept of behavioral practice in those minds where it is most needed. In terms of your PC's software firewall, I strongly recommend disabling the default Windows Firewall in favor of ZoneAlarm. The former is prohibitively greedy with resources both logical and physical, and the latter has been stone-faced serious from Day One about intelligent, adaptive, two-way firewalls. The Contender has returned in both PRO and FREE versions.

This is an excerpt from a MS Technet page for error 53:
Resolutions: 1) if it is domain environment, check your WINS; 2) if it is peer-to-peer workgroup, enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP; 3) make sure the machine is running; 4) make sure file and Printer Share enabled on remote computer; 5) make sure client for ms networks is enabled on local computer; 6) make sure you type the correct name. 7) Make sure no firewall running or any security setting.
Pay close attention to #s 4 and 5 - I suspect XP pro might not be open enough.

Unable to reach firewall periodically

If you are using the firewall as the DHCP server, you may need to check the DHCP lease period on the firewall & increase it if required.

Sonicwall Pro 300 DMZ Problem

If you're within a network and try connecting to computers on it with the WAN public IP, it simply won't work - you must use the network IP. On an external Internet connection, it should connect fine to the public IP. If you have access to an external machine (remote desktop), or if you know of an FTP proxy, you can try it that way. I also believe http://www.webftp.co.uk/ a web based FTP client would act as somewhat of a proxy, you could try that with the public IP and see how you go.

All Public IPs

In order to use your DFL-200 as a firewall, and not a router, you will need to put it into "transparent mode." This will allow you to use only public IP addresses and you will not be using NAT.
