Question about ASUS P5RD1-VM Motherboard
When I am installing XP, it goes fine until the part that says "Setup is preparing Windows". Then it gives me Blue Screen of Death! Please help!
Without the actual info from the BSOD, we have to provide general troubleshooting tips.
Since Windows is not yet loaded, it cannot be a driver or software issue - so we need to look at the hardware.
Typically, a faulty or unrecognized RAM stick and / or an unusual BIOS setting can cause this issue.
Go into the BIOS and reset the BIOS to factory defaults, remove all CPU overclocking.
Remove all RAM and try booting with only 1 stick installed.
If this does not work, try and give the error message from the BSOD and we can look into it for you.
