Question about Televison & Video
I have a Sharp LC-26sh12u that powers on but shows no picture and has no sound. No features are working. Any ideas as to where to start is appreciated. Thanks!
sounds like you are using standard audio/video cables (yellow, blk., wht) in the component conections on either the tv, vcr or dvd player. If you intend on using component connection you will need to use different cables.

In most cases, you can reset the TV by leaving it unplugged for 30mins.
If this doesn't work, I believe the circuit board that supplies power to the screen maybe bad. They call this board a backlight inverter board. It would most likely cost more to repair than replace the TV .

The inout circuitry of the power supply probably has a bad component(s).
Use a series 100 Watt light bulb during testing to avoid blowing fuses. The light will limit the current without blowing the fuse.

Yes, don't buy SHARP, problem solved! SHARP is the worst brand of LCD TV. I had to bring my brand new SHARP TV in for repair within 8 months of buying it brand new, and of course it was no longer under the 90 day labor warranty. Also, every person I know who has a SHARP TV has issues with volume and eventually end up with a black vertical line along the side of the screen within 1 to 2 years. I highly reccomend SONY, PANASONIC, even SAMSUNG, LG or VIZIO. Heck, I'd go with Toshiba or Phillips before I'd ever buy anything SHARP again I was so annoyed with their customer service.
