Question about Maytag MSD2756G Side by Side Refrigerator

Water is overflowing at the bottom of the freezer

Water is overflowing the pan under the coils at the bottom of the freezer. i took the panel off the back of the freezer and tryed to determine where the water is coming from but with the freezer door open everything is defrosting so everything is wet. when i first took the panel off i saw water hanging off the coils, but i know there is suppose to be some condensation coming off of them. the frig is still on and the water is still connected and on. i had to take the ice maker off in order to get all the panels off the back of the freezer, but the waterline for the water goes in the door at the bottom and seems to be fine. Where could this water be coming from and if this is normal, where is all this water suppose to go?

My refrigerator is leaving a puddle under the freezer - it is a side by side. There is not a drip pan in the bottom. Should there be a drip pan? What could be causing the puddle?

Whirlpool Defrost pan overflow

check and see if the door to the ice chute is closing all the way, moisture can get in there and cause excessive frost build up also check the location of your defrost thermostat behind the back panel in the freezer, it should be attached to the top of the evap coil. also check your water system and be sure that there are no leaks under the refer dripping into the pan while the unit is cycling for ice fill or dispenser line.

Water pooling and freezing in bottom of freezer. I've shut the valve so no water is going to the ice maker but water still collects. I can't figure where the water is coming from. Can you help? Thanks!

Sounds like the drain from the freezer evaporator coil is plugged causing the condensate to overflow and fill the bottom of the freezer then refreeze. Most freezers have a drain line from the evaporator to the bottom of the refrigerator leading to a collection pan to allow evaporation of the condensate. You may be able to access the evap condensate pan by removing the rear panel of the freezer. I can not say for sure without the specific model of the unit in question.

Drip pan needs emptying; had repairman out for other issues, now fridge keeps overflowing

The accumulated ice you saw is of course the source of the water. The refrigerator will eventually rid itself of the excess ice and the problem will therefore disappear on it's own after a while. The drip pan is normally filled with only a small amount of water, and that is dried up by the condenser cooling fan under the fridge. The pan is removable from most units, but not without making a mess. I suppose you can make and clean up the mess one time and be done with it.

Ice build up on bottom of freezer

For units with automatic defrosting, there is a drain, sometimes concealed, for the defrosted ice (water) to drain into a removable pan under the coils below the two compartments.
I suspect this is clogged with bits of debris and preventing the melt-water from dripping into the pan.

Check under your ref./freezer behind a trim grill for this pan and check the condition of it; overflowing or empty.
Normally, the fan that blows ambient air through the coils keeps this pan dry-to-moist.
It's fairly shallow so if your ice maker is leaking it will overflow but it should normally only be wet for a short time after the defrost cycle.

If it is pretty dry, note which side is wet. If it is wet under the freezer section, the clog might be loacted there.
If you do not see any holes that could be a drain in either side of the fridge, you could have a more serious problem trying to free it.
Each liner is made as one piece to help keep the inside free of dirt traps but there may be access panels and if they are found low and in the back, they may be intended to access a drain.

If you are lucky enough to find a hole toward the bottom, you should be able to free the drain.
Depending on the location for access, you should be careful poking anything too stiff (like a screwdriver) into it as the coils could be damaged.
Something like a piece of 18 gauge copper wire would be better.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.
