Question about Sony Handycam HDR-HC7E DV Digital Camcorder
I have a Sony Handycam HDR-HC7E camcorder. I used a cheap AC adaptor off ebay. It lasted about 5 minutes before the charger blew...and took my camcorder with it - a soft "phut" sound was heard!! No charged battery powers it on now.
Question : is there a fuse or a part inside I can change? Is there a common part which would blow in this situation? Where can I find a service manual?
Thanks in advance.
There are internal fuses yes, but they are surface mounted ones and not a DIY repair. There are protection diodes internally as well. If the adapter was not the correct one, it is possible that it popped the diodes and fuse.
You can buy the service manual from Sony directly for a cost.
Hope this helps,
