I have a Gasmate patio heater ph 900 that won't ignite

I have a Gasmate patio heater ph 900. It does not ignite-there is a spark and yes the gas bottle is full. I do not have the owners manual. How do I change the igniter or check to confirm if it is faulty.

Thanks

Mike

Before you take it apart, try replacing the hose and regulator, easy to do and inexpensive. If that does not work, you will need to take the heater apart to get to the pilot orifice. The orifice is very small and easy to get clogged up. If the igniter sparks, then it is most likely a gas flow problem.

Patio heater phs won't ignite

Hi, First check if you have a full tank and that the pipes are clear of any insects, water or debris. Next see if you have a spark where the pilot is, if you can hear the piezo clicking but cannot see a spark then check the lead. Sometimes the lead can get loose and short out lower down and prevent the spark from reaching the pilot. You may need to take the lead out to fully check. If you have a spark and gas is reaching the pilot then check the tilt switch, if faulty it can turn the gas valve off. To check you can just short out the tilt switch, found this site very useful patio heater problem solving.

I have a giordano heater that won't light. There is a narrow pipe that diverts gas to the igniter spark. The pipe is capped by a small metal regulator with what looks like a very small hole in it to...

Never drill or try to make the pilot hole larger, this will cause a large flame that cannot be controlled. Check the main parts, first see if you have a spark, next check for leaks, to see how to do a leakage test see patio heater problem solving page. If no leak try changing the thermocouple, these will wear out and can last up to 6 years. Also check the electromagnetic valve that sits inside the gas control valve and if fitted check the tilt switch works. The tilt switch can be shorted out to see if it works.

I have a gasmate table top heater. It lights but remains on low despite the position of the button.

Check the fuel, if using butnae on cold nights it will struggle to get to full power. Always run on propane on cold nights. If that does not fix it you may have a leak, see leakage testing.

Frontgate patio heater, serial number 01A02 0023562, model number SRPH02, cust number SHCDPH, pilot light won't light (checked gas tank already)

First check that you are getting a spark, if not check lead and ignitor. If getting a spark make sure that there are no leaks, to do a gas leakage test see Patio heater problem solving. Next check the tilt switch if fitted, just short it out by joining up the two leads. If OK look for any debris/insects around the pilot and clean. A worn thermocouple will turn the gas off, these can last anywhere for 2 years up to 6 years but will at some point need replacing.

Pilot light wont ignite on patio heater

It may be that your cylinder is malfunctioning, cylinder has a leak, or the pilot is clogged. Please see steps below to troubleshoot. Note:Regular maintenance is critical to the successful operation of your patio heater.
  1. Is the cylinder valve closed? If so, open the cylinder valve but not fully.
  2. Check to see if you can light it manually. If the unit lights manually but not with igniter, service or replace igniter switch.
  3. Ensure that there is no air in the gas line. Open the gas line and bleed it (pressing control knob in) for not more than 1 - 2 minutes or until you smell gas.
  4. There may be a blockage in the orifice or pilot tube? Bugs and spiders get into the pilot assembly, venturi tube and burner ports causing the unit to either not light or poor performance.
  5. Is the regulator hose pinched or kinked?
  6. Cleaning the pilot assembly.
  7. If the piezo igniter won't spark to light the pilot, check the wiring to the igniter, It may simply have lost it's ground. Slide the wire off the igniter prong (looks like a thick needle) on the pilot assembly and then push it back on. That usually will reestablish the ground.
If you continue to have problems with the heater, contact Blue Rhino (the manufacturer) Customer Care 800-762-1142.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know.

I have a Whynter ph-2100h and the pilot will not light the burner nor will it stay lit once i have ignited the pilot. The gas runs for approximately five minutes then shuts down completely.....help

I would think the thermocouple isn't working. The thermocouple provides the power to open the gas valve. One end of the thermocouple should be in the pilot flame, it is on the end of a small copper tube that connects to the gas valve. Make sure you are following ignition instructions. Hope this helps ya.

Coleman 5040 Patio Heater w/ Light - Light works, Heater does not

BE VERY CAREFUL sticking matches in any propane appliance! With the gas OFF see if you can physically see the spark when you push the ignitor, if yes, the problem may be the regulator or bottle pressure the only test i am aware of for the regulator is replacement.
