12 inch alpine type-r popping at low bass

I have one 12 inch alpine type-r hooked up to an alpine m500 amplifier, and when the bass hits a a really low frequency (for example the song "put on" by young jeezy the really low hits in the beginning) the sub will make a popping noise. I have my gain set low already. They still hit hard just when it hits those really low frequencies; it pops.

MTX 12'' sub noise

Sounds like your sub is overextending itself, and possibly losing contact at the voice coil. Overextending will make a weird rattling sound, losing contact at the voice coil will make a popping sound.

I have an Alpine M500 mono amp that works great, until you turn up the volume. I can adjust the bass down at the head unit, but at higher bass the amp shuts off. And then comes back on after a couple...

I don't think either, I believe your running theamp load too low with too low an ohm speakers and this cases the amp to produce more power but not stable and it overheats and the thermal protection cuts the amp off when the temp gets too hot to prevent damage.. Make sure your speakers depending on how they are wired do not exceed the amps load rating

Alpine MRP-M500

You need to check the Fuse on the Power Wire and check the ground wire to see if has loosened up. Also check Power Wire as well.

Hope you see what you are your looking for! Good Luck!

Alpine mono power mrd m500 amp

Try switching the lowpass filter down to 80hz or lower, then adjust the bass boost to your liking.

Amp cuts off

You may have a problem with the power source feeding the amp. You need to check the voltage across the amplifier's B+ and ground terminals when the amp is playing/cutting off. If it's dropping below ~11 volts, you need to determine why it's dropping so low.
