Question about Comdial Executech 6414 Corded Phone
I think you ought to start with the proper manual and a proper phone.
The XE series systems were made in the 90's, about 5 or 6 years after your 616x. They took advantage of the new phones, with display, and the 66xx and 67xx series sets. Your 616 uses the 64xx and old 35xx sets. So, which phones are you using? Start on page 47 of this manual http://public.carl.airpost.net/Comdial/Executech%20XE%20System%20Manual.pdf and make sure you program the ports on pdf page 58 (pgm 61) according to the phone types you have. Once you properly define the pones, everything will start to behave.

Testimonial: "I knew I was missing something. This was it. System works great now. Don't know if that's good or bad. Customer tols his friends and now looks like I might be doing what I used to that I really don't want to anymore - if you know what I mean. Thanks a lot for your assistance - it IS greatly appreciated."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
