Question about Ford Tractor 8n Front Emblem

1 Answer

Snapper 25 hp (kohler engine) mower

Oil is coming out of breather tube and going into the carburetor, which is making the engine die. Runs kind of, if choke is on. Take the choke off & it dies. I am trying to figure out what the oil in the carburetor means.

Lincoln ranger 8 and kohler engine command 20. engine does not pull gas to carburetor. Putting little gas directly in carburetor; machine runs until finish gasoline inside carburator.

engines don't "pull" fuel to carb , it either gravity flows (tank over top carb) there or its pumped there , I do believe the kohler engines from 8 hp thru 25 hp use a vacuum activated fuel pump (three hoses on it) these do go bad over time and need replaced , also there are fuel filters on all these engines that need to be replaced seasonally they are not cleanable there disposable

Kohler Command 14 OHV, Simplicity, riding lawnmower. oil is mixing with gas and blowing out valve cover breather tube and into air filter chamber. What's wrong?

The needle and seat in the carburetor are not sealing. If you don't want to have the carburetor rebuilt what you need to do is change the oil and install an inline fuel shut off valve in the fuel line so you can turn the gas off when the mower is not running or in use.

Didn't winterize my Husquarna 21 hp Kohler riding lawnmower last year.

Dave, grab some gun out or any old carburetor cleaner... remove spark plug, spray a few squirts into the hole then reinstall the plug. Now go to the carburetor, spray some into it as well....

Try starting it , if it starts and runs for a matter of seconds then your carburetor needs to be serviced...and THAT you can do me. If you need help on how to do it, I will send you a link for a you tube video.

Have oil spitting out of carb and dip stick fill tube just started doing that on 19 hp kohler courage

if engine is not overfull you have bad rings on piston have to take in to have it done may end up short blocking it witch is cheaper to do replace rings cheaper by far 200.00 per cylinder

Breather tube throwing oil into carb

Oil coming via the engine breather can mean a worn engine, it could be as simple as an over filled sump, or the breather valve itself is not working, the breather valve allows the crankcase pressure out of the engine.

Engine runs great for 10 minutes and then stalls. Won't start until is sits 3-5 minutes. Replaced fuel lines, filter, cleaned carb., replaced spark plug. What else could be causing this?

Believe it or not, your gas cap is clogged up with dirt and debris. When a carburetor is unable to get a constant flow of air from outside, pressure builds up on the fuel tank. The fastest way to determine whether or not this is the problem is as follows.

As you are using your Mower, at that point when it begins to stall out, loosen the gas cap so that you release the pressure that is built up in the gas tank. If the engine begins to regain power, then you know it is a clogged gas cap. (Simply get a small wire and clear the breathe holes in the cap.) If the engine dies even after loosening the gas cap, then you may want to check to make sure the air breather is clean. ( A dirty air breather can cause the engine to over heat and stall out.)

If none of this seems to help, then it is probably a bad Ignition Coil.

Good Luck!

I have a Snapper Yard Cruiser with a Kohler 15 hp OHV engine. Family no.SKH426U1G2RB; model cv15s; I bought this mower new and started having fuel troubles after about a year. My dealer...

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. As soon as you shut the mower off, lift up the seat and turn the gas shut off to the closed position. Do this even if you are only going to be off the mower a few minutes. When you need the mower started again, open the gas shut off and start the mower.
