Question about Actiontec (GT701) Modem

Can't connect to internet.

My modem says that it's connected to the internet but when i try to go to a website or anything it says that the navigation is cancelled or the site can't be displayed. Also the wireless won't connect. I search for the connection and it shows up, but when i try to connect it says that the connection is too weak or that I haven't entered the right information. If I unplug the modem and then plug it back in it will work for a little while but then eventually stops working again.

    I don't think that i have a router. All i have is the actiontec modem that qwest gave me and it has a wireless gateway.

Oh ok. then log in to your modem. Do you need help with that?
Once you are logged in, check the wireless settings. See if you have the broadcast SSID turned on and the wireless security settings. In case you have everything configured correctly and still no luck, then reset your modem by pressing and holding the reset button on the back and then connect the power cable (this is called HARD RESET) for 10 seconds to have the default settings. But please write down the username and the password because you will erase your configuration.

The TV Needs to be connected to an Internet Connection!
Either Wirelessly, connected to a Hotspot - most likely your WiFi from either your modem or router, depending on how you get online?
Or... Your TV can be hard wired, with a cat cable directly from your Modem/Router to the TV.
If hard wired, double check in the settings page of your TV (Navigate there with your remote) and confirm this.
If wireless, again navigate to settings and scroll to Network Connections, or something similar, (can't be specific since you didn't provide make and model) choose wireless, locate your home network name, enter your Password, and your TV should now connect to Netflix, among other platforms.

I can't test my internet connection speed with Cisco Connect

Try first to navigate, go to if you still
have the same problem means you are not connected .if so
start to check if you have signal dsl or adsl (depend on your service)
and intrnet lights are ON , in your modem
if yes, restart your router,.....
if still have the problem
restart your PC
if still can't navigate
restart your modem, give 10 mn to all services and light come back
then retry.

Try a new working LAN cable between your internet modem and the router. Is your internet modem connected and working? You should be able to directly connect using a LAN cable to check the modem connection. Reboot your modem and router.

I have a rca modem. And I pay my internet company on time. But on the modem the cable link blinks slowly and and I am not getting no internet connection. So I want to know if the cables are plugged wrong...

Of course the first thing to do is to check the connection of your cable all the way to the wall. Did you disconnect anything?
It is usually best to unplug the cable modem from anything connected to it and to check after you disconnect if from the power outlet and the cable. First connect the cable back and then the power and check what is going on there. If you are connected to Cable TV then of course check your TV set if you are getting anything.

you can try to log into the modem itself: For a RCA cable modem, you may need to navigate to to view the diagnostics.

Says thers a connectivity problem in modem, access point. internet getting to the modem and the computer is connecting to the modem but there is no internet connection.

try to uninstall and reinstall drivers of your modem.
then try to ping any website on command propmt windows.

Anything i try to watch on YOUTUBE stops and starts. I see the whole thing but in ten seconds bytes.

The video is buffering which is normal. A lot of buffering can mean an internet connection that is not quite fast enough. If you can do things that help with the performance of your internet connection, you can reduce the buffering attempts.

If you are dial-up, not much you are going to be able to do. Dial-up is not fast enough to support video.
If you are using high speed internet (DSL, cable, satellite), you can do things like restart the modem (unplug, wait 15 seconds, plug back in). If you have a router to connect mulitple PCs to your modem, you can restart the router (unplug, wait, plug in). Resetting router is especially useful if you stay connected all the time.

If you are connecting wireless to your modem/router, check the signal strength. Try to position your computer to get the best strength possible. To help boost signal, you can get hi-gain antennae for your modem/router. These will help boost the strength of the wireless signal as well as extend range.

Definitely... it could be anything from your cable modem on up. I would call my provider and let them figure it out, but you can try a couple of continuous pings on a quick responding website like google. If you have a wireless device between you and your modem, cut out the middleman and go straight through the modem. If your problems persist give your provider a call.

1. Statis ip customer means, configure the static ip address in your wireless router,

2. Dynamic ip customer means, configure the ip address of the ADSl modem ip.

unistall AOL, clean out temp files, clear history, go to control panel, internet options, Connections tab, remove anything in the dial up and virtual private networks....should be good to go.
