Question about Kenmore Washing Machines

1 Answer

Dog hair remains on clothes/blankets after washing

PLEASE tell me that there IS a washing machine, made like the good old days of my childhood, where they bragged about the Flo-Thru Filter?!?! It was great! As the clothes washed, the water recirculated back up to the top, and spilled out into a strainer at the top of the agitator! At the end of the cycle, there was a great lint-ball...or hairball, easily scoop-uppable...and the clothes were free of hair! So the ''filter'' was just a strainer...no fancy ''filter'' needing replacement every so often!
PLEASE tell me there's a GREAT system like that out there...and not one that relies on removing parts to get to a filter, etc. Supposedly, these were discontinued as cost-saving measures...but it certainly costs more for filters, and rolled tape to remove the hair! I'm at my wit's end!

If you want suggested answers you have to provide make, model and type of washer ( top/or front load )
if it is a westinghouse , simpson, hoover or like make top loader , there is a lint catcher bag at the end of the center spindle cover that you simply pull up and unclip and turn inside out to clean
Soe put the detergent in that cover for the washing

SOURCE: Blocked filter in Fisher & Paykel washing machine top loader

Fisher & Paykel washers do not have lint filters inside the tubs as they are designed to drain away any debris from the wash during the drain cycle.

SOURCE: Can't find Haier lint filter for HLP21E

http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=b198i1226155&PartID=1226155
My washer did not come with the Lint Filter. I contacted Haier Customer Service and sent them all the info they requested such as copy of receipt and etc. That was several weeks ago and Haier still says that they have yet to receive that letter. Or they say that due to high volume of warranty letters they receive, they have yet to process it. Anyways, I got fed up with the customer service or lack of, I started surfing the web for the lint filter and found the above site. The filter is very inexpensive and I got it in several days.

Power off the mains. The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. Drain out all the water. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. Inside is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out thoroughly. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip. Check out the pump too before reconnecting.

Kenmore/Whirlpool WASHING Machine #110.26752502 top load Not Rinsing Thoroughly

usually the dogs in the upper agitator go bad. your agitator is two pieces. grab the lower agitator and turn the upper agitator. if you can turn it, the upper, back and forth. the dog cams are bad. very common problem. if they are stripped, clothes will not agitate in wash or rinse. plus machine can go out of balance easy. usually caused by normal wear and tear but is also a sacrificial piece in the even of an overload. common tools repair. good luck.

How do I wash my dog's clothing?

As with anything, always read the label for instructions on how to wash the clothing. I would also use a hypoallergenic laundry detergent because my dog was allergic to the detergent we once kept in the house.

What kinds of dogs will not benefit from wearing clothes?

Dogs with long hair should not dress up with dog clothes because the clothes tend to restrict their mobility. Also, dogs with long hair do not require warming clothes like short haired dogs, which aren't able to warm themselves up properly during the cold weather.

I mistakenly put my dogs sweater in with the laundry and now my kids clothes are covered in dog hair

You should let the clothing dry and then take it outside and give it a good shake. Any hair that is left over use a lint brush (if you have) or another cool trick is to use brown parcel tape wrapped around your hand (sticky side out) and brush the clothes with it, after you remove the hair I would wash the clothes once more.

Is this machine a front loader,I bet you have a clogged drain pump.
Try this with no cloths in unit put Draino-Max Gel. Add about 1/3 of bottle and let it stay in washer about 2-3 hrs. now shut door and start machine put on heavy-duty hot-water.this may take a few times, but this well take care of dog hair ,strings and also sanitize machine after. After machine starts to run better, bleach machine every other week.
