The dust cover has to line up with the oiler on the distribeter. Caution check to make sure you dont have any cracks inthe cap and be sure to put the little clip back on before you install the rotoer . All else being right, it should start.

Ford naa 6v

you will get much more than 6v at the plugs when it is working more like 16000 v. Check that the condenser is working and has not failed as it is vital to make the coil work properly.

No fire at plugs on golden jubilee ford tractor . I have power to the coil and power out of the coil but can't get any fire.

check and see if the points are gapped, no gap or too wide(not closing) make sure the point set is grounded properly and the connector tab from the points to the terminal is insulated. if you dont find it here then you have a bad condensor. look closely where the terminal comes out of the distributor and make sure the insulator is intact. i have seen people putiing in points loose them and also cracks from the years have led them to rot and when the terminal is turned they just turn to dust. i found one from just 8n's for mine and put it in he has naa parts as well. the trick is the points have to open and close and not be gronded to the hull of the dist. the only ground on the points should be where the screws hold them in the other side (breaking side should not ground) . good luck and hope this helps

1953 Ford NAA tractor hard to steer. When small front end loader is full I cannot turn left. name is Keith..and i restore 9N's,2N's and 8N's..and i have dabbled with NAA's and others..but i would suspect its in the steering box..and i suspect its the left sector gear(steering gear) is worn or has a bad spot on a tooth..i would jack the front axle up and suport it with jack stands and operate the steering wheel and see if i could feel any binding in the steering box or in the front wheel (Left and Right) axles ..and i would also check the tierod ends..i hope this has helped..if not..please write back

The best place online to find info about the jubilee is at and post your question there in the forums. They were able to tell me how to change the front oil seal on my jubillee. As i don't have a front end loader on mine, I think that the guys at would have the exprience and knowledge that you are looking for. And it is a free service much like fixya but they are only interested in ford n tractors.
